The numbers are in, and based on what we heard from 2011 Gaithersburg Book Festival attendees, you like us, you really, really do!
The 2011 festival attracted an estimated 10,000 to 12,000 book lovers, almost doubling the attendance from the inaugural festival in 2010. Attendance in the author presentation pavilions showed a dramatic increase of 75 percent this year compared to 2010.
In just its second year, it is clear that the Gaithersburg Book Festival its making its mark, and the public wholeheartedly approves. Of those who filled out our surveys, approximately 95 percent said they are likely to attend in 2012. And on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best, the featured authors and staff/volunteers received top scores of almost 4.6, while the Children's Village, workshops, Coffee House, exhibits and food all ranked higher than 4.
Even though our survey respondents gave us high marks, there’s still room for improvement. If you have ideas about how we can make the 2012 Gaithersburg Book Festival even better, or would like to recommend featured authors, e-mail us your suggestions. We’d love to hear from you! |
