God is ... Love (=Relationship)
The Season of Lights is, among other things, a time for introspection, and personal observation. What is of worth in your life? What is worth risking, pledging, giving up something, maybe everything, for?
We are so abundantly blessed when we have something we can feel that way for. Truth? Beauty? Family? Devotion to something beyond just ourselves. Relatedness. To something.
We can aim to achieve so much in the different chapters of our lives. And what may surprise us sometimes is how anticlimactic a triumph or milestone can feel when we've achieved it for its own sake. We reach for the next one.
Process ... journey ... we say these words frequently in Yoga. Never are we more imperfect or perfect than now.
Joyful in where we are: that is the practice of Santosha, contentment, the 2nd Niyama or observance in Patanjali's classic 8 limbs of Yoga.
And so it is "come as you are" that God finds us, loves us. We are never asked to be flawless ~ only joyfully loved, joyfully flawed. Blessed clay jars containing this priceless treasure: our willingness to love, and be loved. God's love for us, poured to us, through us, from us.
We so often hear the words "God is Love." Love by definition is relating. It is union, it is yoking. One to another. Self to self. Self to God. Om shanti ~ peace! A blessed and a beloved Christmas be within you.

Blake Brody Shoes
You may see Figure 4 teachers at Pure wearing little stretch ballet slippers; they are actually Blake Brody In-Studio Shoes, which are anti-bacterial and anti-microbial, and prevent slippage on sweaty mats, as well as provide arch support. I have wide toes, so I got a pair but am still getting used to how they feel practicing, not teaching in them. See website for a variety of fun designs. Other options for similar functions include Vibram five-finger shoes and the classic ToeSox.
