Dorothy Moore: BLUES HEART |
|
After ten years, Dorothy Moore releases Blues Heart. This project features 10 tracks and is the fifth project on her label, Farish Street Records of Mississippi.
“Let the Healing Begin” is a slow blues that debuts Moore, aka the “Misty Blue Lady,” on harmonica singing an E.G. Kight penned song. Moore had harp lessons from L.C. Ulmer in his kitchen about three years ago.
When Moore started this new project she called on many of her friends to send her songs. Most of the songs on Blues Heart have not been recorded before. One exception was written and recorded years ago by a Mississippi writer, Bobbie Gentry. You might remember "Ode to Billie Joe," but listen to Moore’s version of this Mississippi Delta song with a new spin.
Blues Heart has a Dorothy Moore feel drawing from her blues roots that might be understood around the world. When asked to describe her singing, Moore says she’s a R&B singer with a blues heart. Today her R&B is called blues.

Brad Wilson : BLUES MAGIC |
With the June, 2012, release of Brad Wilson's newest album, Blues Magic, Wilson once again proves he is a songwriter, first and foremost. Ten brand new originals in his blues/rock style that features excellent guitar playing and smooth vocals. The album has a stellar line up of musicians and world class production from Grammy Award-winning engineer Francis Buckley. The title track, “Blues Magic” and all of the album's songs will be the centerpiece for the 2012 tour dates.
Brad Wilson is a California guitarslinger who plays rocked-up blues and is a charismatic and talented guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. Performing 100 shows a year, Brad has become known as a smokin' hot blues player who can rock the house all night long with the best of them. His songwriting has a hard-charging Americana/Blues/Roots style and his guitar playing is contemporary blues and he can rip on lead.
Brad's live show is presented with spirit and class. Recent appearances include The House Of Blues, Biscuits & Blues, Café Boogaloo, the Julian Blues Bash and some of California’s biggest events.
Brad's music is on radio in over 30 countries worldwide and played in over 40 states in the U.S. ElectricBlues Radio Playlist and Listener Voting Report, voted by listeners, named Brad Wilson their #1 choice. Legendary national blues show, Blues Deluxe, which broadcasts throughout the U.S. featured Wilson and exclaimed, "Wilson's sound is that of liquid metal; hot and smooth!"
Brad was featured on the cover of Southland Blues, California's premiere Blues Magazine. Southland Blues did an in-depth interview with this award-winning musician, where Brad discusses his work with NBC Television, Paramount Films and his tours throughout the country.
Brad Wilson's music has also been featured in John Carpenter's last two films and soundtracks, Vampires and Ghosts Of Mars.

Self-titled : BIG OL' DIRTY BUCKET |
|
Big Ol' Dirty Bucket's self-titled album is the band's debut studio release and contains eleven pulsating tracks which highlight the unique style of funk that has become the band's trademark sound. Laden with big horns, rippling keys, slick guitar, and soulful vocals atop thumping bass and drums, each track showcases the vast sonic pallet that makes Big Ol Dirty Bucket's sound so modern and unique, while retaining an unmistakably classic funk feel. From the powerful funk/rock components of the album's opener "Photonic Amplifier People" and the James Brown-esque chicken pickin' of "Lite That Spliff", to the classic soul stylings of "Emotional Rollercoaster", all the way to the pumping dance floor burner "All Night Long and Once In The Mornin'", Big Ol' Dirty Bucket's self titled album is destined to spawn a slew of party playlist favorites across the board.
The song “Black Cloud Joe” is dedicated to all the Black Cloud Joe’s of the world: Those folks who just can't get a break. This funky soul song climaxes in a southern baptist revival frenzy, giving us all hope that the sun is bound to shine some day.
