Greetings from your E-Editor...
I'm packing up and moving across town shortly and it's been a real eye opener. Moving has many highs and lows... there's no way of getting around it. The highs are realizing all the cool stuff you've accumulated over the years and the memories attached. The lows are realizing all the cool stuff you've accumulated over the years and then the time it takes to weed through it to decide whether to save or toss!
"I'm sitting here wondering, will a matchbox hold my clothes." That line keeps popping in my head and making me laugh. Being a bit of a diva that also has changed sizes here and there, I save things but keep collecting. I'm embarrassed and humbled by my abundance of clothing articles. But I also treasure things like heirlooms and mementos and I like costume stuff. Yes, moving is eye-opening on many levels but I'm making progress finally. "Something tells me I won't be here long... I got my suitcase packed and my trunk's already gone." (L.C. Williams "I Won't Be Here Long").
Wherever your travels or "moves" may lead you this week, hope you make some great musical memories on the journey.
Don't forget to honor our US veterans on Tuesday, November 11, for their sacrifices.
Upcoming Birthdays of note: Nov 6 Rory Block (1949); Nov 8 Bonnie Bramlett (1944); Bonnie Raitt (1949); Nov 9 Linda Hopkins (1925), Susan Tedeschi (1970); Nov 10 Bobby Rush; Nov 11 LaVern Baker (1929), Mose Allison (1927), Chris Smither (1944); Nov 12 Bukka White (1906), Booker T. Jones (1944); Nov 13 Louisa "Blue Lu" Barker (1913), John Hammond, Jr. (1942), Candye Kane (1965); Nov 14 Carey Bell (1936), Anson Funderburgh (1954), Buckwheat Zydeco (1947)

Kaye Bohler :: HANDLE THE CURVES
Kaye Bohler has produced her dream album, Handle the Curves, with multi-platinum, Grammy award-winning producer, Pete Anderson. Every instrument and vocal line jumps clearly out to the listener in this clean, uncomplicated production that is free of mid-range, over-produced frills. Anderson envisioned and treated the tunes with a Stax-Volt style complete with big Memphis-style horns arrangements writen by Tonight Show trumpeter, Lee Thronburg. The soulful depth and tone of the Kaye Bohler voice, the songs, the masterful musicianship and the arrangements get the attention they deserve by a time tested producer on these 10 original compositions by Bohler.
Her songwriting takes you on a journey from introspection to blatant sexual double entendre and frivolity. Read more details here

Steve Cropper Explains his Immediate Connection with Blues Brothers
There’s a reason Steve Cropper had such an affinity with the Blues Brothers — and right from the beginning. They reminded him of everything he loved about working for Stax Records. “The thing about the Blues Brothers is that it was a community project,” Cropper tells Southport Visiter. “Everyone pitched in with this song and that song. It was not just John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. We all did it together and we worked together as a team. That’s what Stax was about. There are some superstars out there and the focus is on them, but I like music to be a community project.”
