Roy Rogers :: INTO THE WILD BLUE
Roy Rogers remains defiantly upbeat on his 12th solo album Into The Wild Blue — out June 2nd on CD and all digital formats. Even though 64 year-old Rogers has lost longtime friends like blues legend John Lee Hooker, his recent recording partner of eight years, Ray Manzarek of The Doors, as well as his younger brother Robert — he says “life’s too short” to wallow in our grief or what we have lost., “I want to celebrate life through my music.” Into The Wild Blue wails, squawks, stomps and boogies with authenticity — ready for the open road and the live stage. Years of working with the likes of John Lee Hooker, Bonnie Raitt, Carlos Santana, Sammy Hagar and Steve Miller has given him a pop musicality...

Mr. Sipp :: THE MISSISSIPPI BLUES CHILD
Mr. Sipp’s new album, The Mississippi Blues Child, takes you to a whole new level. With his mixture of melodic guitar riffs, soulful lyrics and sound, you see another side of Mr. Sipp. This will be the second blues album released, the first album, It’s My Guitar, was the official introduction of Mr. Sipp with all traditional mind and soul moving blues. The new project tells a love story and it’s so very easy to follow beginning with the bio hit song “TMBC” telling you exactly who he is and how he got to where he is today. Then the journey begins taking you through the relationship from the beginning to the end. Blues is a feeling and that’s exactly what love is and it’s so thoroughly expressed by Mr. Sipp on this album. ...

The Bloodline Tour is coming
BATON ROUGE, LA – “I'm so happy to be back in the saddle again” says Kenny Neal. “I had to take off for a while for my big move back to Baton Rouge. It’s nice to be back and settled. And the best part of it all – I just completed a new CD that will be coming out soon. The name of it is Bloodline. I wrote 8 songs out of the 12. I'm really excited about it. It was fun to make, great horn arrangements, nice back-up vocals. I had my good friend Lucky Peterson come join me on piano. It was like old times. I can't wait to get it into the hands of my wonderful fans that have been waiting for the last five years. ...

Volunteers still needed for May 16 Rowan Blues and Jazz Festival in Salisbury, NC
SALISBURY, NC - After a run of 15 consecutive years, the event’s founder and chief organizer, Eleanor Qadirah and the Rowan Blues and Jazz Society did not put together the Blues and Jazz Festival in 2014, but it proved to be only temporary because she kept hearing from people who had missed it.
This year’s 16th edition will be held May 16 at the corner of North Lee and East Kerr streets, in the center of the Railwalk Arts District of Salisbury, North Carolina. Headline acts include West End Mambo, Peter Harper, Beverly “Guitar” Watkins of Atlanta and the Joe Robinson Revue.
Qadirah is sending out a plea for more festival volunteers to help her and other Rowan Blues and Jazz Society members. For more information visit their website or call 704-636-3277.
