Tas Cru :: SIMMERED AND STEWED
Raucous, rowdy, gentle, sweet, eccentric, quirky, and outright irreverent are all words that fittingly describe Tas Cru’s songs and testify to his reputations a one of the most unique of bluesmen plying his trade today. Cru has received wide praise for his songwriting: As Downbeat magazine notes, “His songs are blues poetry – crafted with rare verbal flair and his ability to cast a memorable hook is magical!” Live, these songs are performed with power and passion. As observed by Living Blues magazine, “The vivacity and sheer joy with which Cru plays is intoxicating!”
His brand new album, Simmered And Stewed, now available for pre-sale, will be released November 11, 2016 through the VizzTone label group — eleven songs flavored in most part by resonator, cigar box and acoustic guitar.

Two Trains Runnin’ … A film about the reclamation of forgotten black blues musicians
Freedom Summer began in June 1964. Yet alongside the Northern college students who famously traveled South to work in the voter-registration drives and the movement to end the country’s Jim Crow laws, another cultural train sallied forth: the reclamation of forgotten black blues musicians.
Two Trains Runnin’ documents these two social milestones – the Civil Rights movement and the resurrection of the overlooked bluesmen – and the uncanny way in which both trains aligned on June 21, 1964. Using historical footage, director Sam Pollard recounts the vital history of Freedom Summer, and how the murders of Michael Schwerner, James Chaney, and Andrew Goodman on June 21 was one of the campaign’s defining moments.
