SORRY FOR THE DELAY
As many of your noticed, we've been off-line for a few weeks. We are a small (but enthusiastic) staff. Which means we don't have anybody who can cover for us when we are away.
Thanks to everybody who emailed missing us. This week's e-guide will be somewhat abbreviated. We'll be back in full force next week.

NICK MOSS AND THE FLIP TOPS : : Play it 'Til Tomorrow
PLAY IT 'TIL TOMORROW is Nick Moss' most ambitious recording project yet: two jam-packed discs spotlighting the entire width and breadth of his band's sonic attack. Longtime fans will immediately recognize the stinging electric blues sound that characterizes the first CD, but on disc two Nick introduces an 'unplugged' side that he's never before tapped in the studio. The uncommon versatility of the Flip Tops-ex-Legendary Blues Band keyboardist Willie Oshawny (who switches over to bass for four cuts and second guitar on another), harpist and fretsman extraordinaire Gerry Hundt, and veteran drummer Bob Carter - plays a huge role in the collection's extraordinary variety. Inherently grasping the value of playing as a rock-solid unit, the Flip Tops cook up steady-surging grooves while Nick's slashing guitar solos make every note count and every phrase resonate with authority. Adding to the mix are special guests Eddie Taylor Jr. and Barrelhouse Chuck.

THE KILBORN ALLEY BLUES BAND : : Tear Chicago Down
The eagerly anticipated follow-up to the Blues Music Award-nominated PUT IT IN THE ALLEY! The members of The Kilborn Alley Blues Band - Andrew Duncanson, Joe Asselin, Chris Breen, Josh Stimmel, and Ed O'Hara - are a true band, together of personal volition and sheer joy. According to Chicago blues matriarch Mary Lane, "You meet a lot of people in a lifetime in music, and the guys in Kilborn Alley are the kind I can say I am glad to know. They have that crazy love for blues and stay true to it." Nick Moss produced the recording and joins the band on guitar on three tracks. Also guesting are Gerry Hundt and Abraham Johnson.

NEW FROM ALLIGATOR, ECLECTO GROOVE AND DELTA GROOVE RECORDS
ALLIGATOR RECORDS SIGNS EDDY "THE CHIEF" CLEARWATER! NEW CD EXPECTED IN SPRING 2008
Alligator Records is pleased to announce the signing of legendary Chicago blues guitarist and songwriter Eddy "The Chief" Clearwater. Clearwater, winner of the Blues Foundation's Blues Music Award for "Contemporary Blues - Male Artist Of The Year" in 2001, is known worldwide as a masterful guitarist and vocalist as well as a charismatic and joyful live performer. Ronnie Baker Brooks, son of Chicago blues legend Lonnie Brooks, produced the CD, and added some of his own guitar work to the mix.
SPRING BREAK '83 FILMING IN PROGRESS
Filming is already in progress for “Spring Break ‘83” in New Orleans - the next major motion picture release by Big Sky Motion Pictures and Eclecto Groove / Delta Groove Productions. Starring such memorable actors as John Goodman, Jamie Kennedy, Mars Callahan, Joe Pantoliano, Paul Reubens, Downtown Julie Brown, Richard Portnow and Erik Estrada, the coming of age teen comedy will spoof the ‘80s in tribute to such classic lampooning comedies as “Animal House”, “Porky’s”, “Revenge Of The Nerds”, “Airplane”, and “Police Academy.” Much like how legendary performers Stevie Ray Vaughan appeared in the 1987 film “Back To The Beach” or Robert Cray in the 1978 classic “Animal House,” Eclecto Groove recording artists Ana Popovic and Zito were on hand to lend their talents as the “house band” in the film.
RECORDING ARTIST ZITO ALONG WITH DREAM TEAM RELEASED 'TODAY" ON ECLECTO GROOVE RECORDS
Recording is now complete for the upcoming Eclecto Groove Records debut release “Today” by Zito, James “Hutch” Hutchinson (who has won 27 Grammy-Awards and has recorded on numerous projects including Bonnie Raitt, Roy Orbison, Joe Cocker, Willie Nelson, Boz Scaggs, Keb’ Mo’ and B.B. King), Keyboardist Benmont Tench (longtime pianist with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and highly sought-after session player who has appeared on recordings by Jackson Browne, Johnny Cash, Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, U2, and the Rolling Stones to name just a few!), drummer Tony Braunagel (Taj Mahal, Eric Burdon, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt and Phantom Blues Band) and a stellar group of additional musicians and vocalists. A great deal of effort and emphasis was placed on really developing Zito’s songs and arrangements, resulting in a powerfully majestic and unashamedly personal work that reveals a truly gifted artist has officially arrived on the scene. Look for Zito’s worldwide release on Eclecto Groove Records in early 2008!
BEHIND THE SCENES: Zito was recently on location in New Orleans to film his cameo appearance in the upcoming Big Sky Motion Picture release “Spring Break ’83.” Zito can be seen performing on stage together with Ana Popovic in the cantina sequence that takes place during the movie, where they pay tribute to the musical stylings of the early ‘80s.
DELTA GROOVE RECORDS SIGNS UP AND COMING BLUESMAN SEAN COSTELLO
Delta Groove Records is pleased to announce the signing of singer/guitarist Sean Costello. One of the most exciting and talented of the ‘new school’ of young blues players, the 28-year-old has already logged over a decade of touring and recording experience, including a stint in Susan Tedeschi’s band while he was still in high school, which resulted in Tedeschi’s certified-Gold Record “Just Won’t Burn”.
“I love playing the guitar,” Sean Costello says. “As a kid I was definitely obsessive over the instrument,” he explains, “and for years I felt I could express myself better through the guitar than with my own voice. But right now I’m equally driven towards writing songs and expanding my vocal direction,” he adds.
Costello was born in Philadelphia in 1979, and moved with his family to Atlanta at the age of 9. Within a few short years he’d already won the Memphis Blues Society’s new talent award and was on the road with his own band. In 1996, the precocious 17 year-old released his first album, “Call The Cops”. Real Blues Magazine called it “an explosive debut.”
In 2000, when he released “Cuttin’ In” on Landslide Records, Costello wasn’t even 20 years old and he already had a gold record on his wall. “Cuttin’ In” earned him critical acclaim as well as a prestigious W. C. Handy Award nomination for ‘Best New Artist Debut.’ The album received a four and a half star review from the AllMusicGuide.
With 2002’s “Moanin’ For Molasses”, also on Landslide, came a Blues Revue cover story touting Costello as “the top contender to be the next blues star - and soon.” Costello’s hometown paper The Atlanta Journal-Constitution called his guitar playing “masterful” and of “remarkable maturity.” The paper also compared him to such legends as B.B. King, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
DELTA GROOVE PREPARES TO RELEASE LIVE RECORDINGS BY THE LEGENDARY RHYTHM & BLUES REVUE
DELTA GROOVE announces the upcoming release of a new live CD by the LEGENDARY RHYTHM & BLUES REVUE, featuring the TOMMY CASTRO BAND and an all-star line-up including DEANNA BOGART, MAGIC DICK and RONNIE BAKER BROOKS all taking turns leading the band. The LEGENDARY RHYTHM & BLUES REVUE was born when these amazing musicians, each headliners in their own right, were booked to play together by Roger Naber to headline The Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise (the premier Blues event which attracts nearly 4,000 fans from all 50 states and 18 foreign countries twice a year). The LEGENDARY RHYTHM & BLUES REVUE is currently touring the U.S., and based on the excitement generated by their incendiary live shows, DELTA GROOVE has arranged to release a collection of live recordings spotlighting some of the highlights of their tour.
