I find that in order to stay balanced in my musical life I need to include music for healing and meditation as well as the more visceral process of playing jazz. Both styles demand total presence with the music and expression of inspiration.
The healing/meditative side of my work brings me deeply inside, and the jazz brings that focus strongly into form and action.
