Kids Crafters Care

Like all LEAF kids crafters, Rosa Sickenberger & Dottie Benninghofen worked VERY hard making their craft, and selling their wares all weekend at the Kids Craft Market. They decided to DONATE their earnings to a charity and chose LEAF in Schools & Streets as the most worthy. They raised $14.50 and only kept $.75 apiece each. Each donation means SO MUCH to our programs. This $13 gift warmed our hearts! THANK YOU Rosa & Dottie for your generous gift...you and your families TRULY moved the LEAF spirit in us.

Meet Leo Kottke! With a career spanning nearly five decades, 6- and 12-string acoustic guitar virtuoso Leo is sure to be a highlight of this Fall’s LEAF for many. From his debut 12-String Blues, released in 1969, to his multiple forays with bassist Mike Gordon that brought him back into a more relevant limelight in the past decade, he has delighted audiences of audiophiles with the eclectic amalgamation of genres driven by a unique and unparalleled style of fingerpicking. His guitar prowess combined with his witty banter and gravelly baritone, [which he often describes as “geese farts on a muggy day,”] is sure to grab and hold the attention of connoisseurs and new fans alike. EMPOWERS YOUNG PEOPLE

TLC Kids Become Clogging Rockstars @ LEAF

All YOU LEAF people make LEAF in Schools & Streets kids have experiences of a LIFETIME! The Learning Community School students completed a clogging residency with the legendary Green Grass Cloggers, which was also during their 40th anniversary celebration at LEAF. They performed on Lakeside, main stage during Sunday at May LEAF. Truly AMAZING! Thanks for ALL the LOVE our LEAF community gives to these kids!

"It was a total hit... the kids couldn't be prouder and the parents couldn't be happier. The kids really did such a fantastic job; they are inspired and so proud of themselves. Great experience for all."
