This Monday in my Yoga Nidra class I led an imagery inspired by Kabbalah teacher Dr. Gerald Epstein. Here it is, paraphrased. Happy New Year.
Meditation on Inner Light dispelling the darkness ~
Close your eyes, breathe out. Imagine the Milky Way within you, studded with bright stars, and streams of light of courage, love, and beauty flowing.
Locate a point of discomfort within your body. See it diluted, dissolved, and dissipated by the streams of light in you. Repeat this, feeling yourself filled with light, the streams of light reaching beyond you and out into the world.
Repeat this meditation daily throughout the 8 days of Hanukah, 12 days of Christmas, and the 7 days of Kwanzaa. This year, they overlap; a triple boon of a wondrous festival of lights, despite the darkness in the season.

Valentine's & February Immersion
|
I am a busy lover in February! Join me for two Valentine's events:
Valentine Restorative Feast at Pure East on Saturday February 11th from 2-4pm, with an assistant team giving loving touch, aromatherapy gifts for guests, and poses, mantras, essential oils, to bless each of your 7 chakras. All levels welcome, special price if registering with a friend.
ValenThai at Om Factory, Sunday February 12th, 5:30-7:30pm, a lusciously led Thai yoga love-fest for friends and lovers, co-taught with my friend Bassam Kubba. Bring a family member, or bestie, or your honey, and give and receive the nectar of the dance of Thai. We complete the treat with wine and chocolates! What a delish date, for body & soul!
Then, February 18-21, on Presidents' Day Weekend, my pal Brian Davis and I lead the 2017 New York AcroYoga Elemental Immersion, from Saturday though Tuesday.
In 4 days, over 30 hours, the Elemental is great for brand new AcroYoga students wanting the most solid Foundations imaginable, for seasoned AcroYoga students getting serious about training, and for those interested in the Teacher Training path. It fulfills one of the requirements for AcroYoga International TT. It also offers 30 Continuing Education hours for Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teachers. A few 3-day weekend spots are available. Early Bird ends at midnight January 13th.

Sweetness and Light are what we will create together Saturday night, my sister pal Linda Mittel and I, at Om Factory Union Square, to see out the old year and welcome in the New Year with light and hope.
We do so with AcroYoga games and flight and fun, and a bubbly toast at midnight. We then stay open for playful Thai and Fly and dance and sheer sweetness of company until we all go home tired at 1:30 in 2017.
Feel free to bring any treats and any dress-up masks! Register
