Kris Delmhorst :: THE WILD
“Brilliant” (Pop Matters, Boston Globe) bluesy singer-songwriter Kris Delmhorst marks two decades of a life in music with the release of The Wild, on September 22. The arc of the album describes "losing the path, finding the path: losing your connection to your lover, to the muse, to your sense of self, and dead reckoning the way back," says Delmhorst. The record juxtaposes a wide open sonic template – dark washes of electric guitar and pedal steel, bright layers of acoustic guitars underlined by cello and keys against lyrics that travel from deep melancholy to the joy of inspiration and connection. Miles Davis famously said, "Music is the space between the notes. It’s not the notes you play; it’s the notes you don’t play,” and Delmhorst uses that philosophy to create an uncluttered embrace of mystery and questioning.

Royal Blues Holiday Celebration Dec 16 for Prostate Cancer Awareness
(Decatur, GA) – The 2017 Blues 4 Prostate Cancer Education Tour is making an impact in the Atlanta metro area on December 16 with the Royal Blues Holiday Celebration for Prostate Cancer Awareness at the Vista Room (2836 LaVista Rd., Decatur, GA). PCaBlue and the Atlanta Blues Society are working together to connect the dots between prostate cancer and blues music by hosting this educational concert event. The show will feature legendary blues man, Grammy Award Winning Bobby Rush and Atlanta’s very own Big Bill Morganfield. Hosted by ABC Atlanta affiliate WSB-TV anchor, Tom Jones and WRFG Radio UK Bob, twill include both a live and silent auction. The event is a fundraiser for PCa BLUE, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to raising prostate cancer awareness. Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in American men. There are nearly 3 million prostate cancer survivors in the U.S. today and more than 161,000 men will be diagnosed this year. All men are at risk, some more than others. This is a cancer that has very few, if any, noticeable symptoms when it is in its earliest, curable stage.

The Blues is Alive and Kicking in Buffalo, New York
(Buffalo, NY) - Tas Cru believes there is nothing more important for a blues performer today than sharing one’s love for the great American treasure that is the blues with the next generation! Recently the Blues Society of Western New York hosted his visit to Buffalo’s Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts for two days of workshops and performances with over 100 students participating. Students, already skilled and talented musicians, created horn and vocal arrangements for blues classics by Albert Collins, Jimmy Reed and Etta James as well some Tas Cru tunes. They then performed them and brought down the house! Sometimes school is really, really cool!
“These kids are phenomenal,” says Tas, “they live and breathe music and know and love their blues - supported and encouraged by great teachers who want to help their kids be able to become musicians rather than just learn how to play music. Why wasn't my high school this cool?! Thank you Blues Society of Western New York for furthering my faith that the blues is alive and will be for years to come.”
