The Indigenous Environmental Network
17th Protecting Mother Earth Gathering

Earth Day is upon us and on this day that we honor our Mother Earth, we want to extend an invitation to you to support and/or participate in the Protecting Mother Earth Conference, June 28 - July 1st, hosted by the Indigenous Environmental Network, the Nisqually Indian Tribe and Indigenous Climate Action.
This year’s Protecting Mother Earth Conference (PME) is the 17th PME that IEN has co-hosted since the founding of the organization in the early 90’s. During the PME we will bring Indigenous community members, tribal leaders, traditional knowledge keepers, land defenders, seed keepers, and artists together to learn from each other as we envision what our path forward will be.
The PME will feature panels, workshops, and sessions on topics including:
  • Traditional Ecological Knowledge
  • Just Transition
  • Energy and Mineral Extraction
  • Climate Justice
  • Water Issues
  • Food Sovereignty
  • Indigenous Led Media
  • International Indigenous Rights Issues

If you are unable to join us for the PME but would like to support the event and or sponsor someone to attend you can Donate HERE.
  • When: June 28th - July 1st, 2018
  • Where: Nisqually Territory at Franks Landing near Olympia Washington
Protecting Mother Earth Conference is an event curated and organized especially for our Indigenous relatives. While we encourage and welcome our many partners, allies, and supporters to join us, this is an intentional Indigenous-led gathering.
