Dawn Cartwright is a Tantric visionary, sacred writer, world traveler, and innovator in bio-energetic Tantra fusion. Frequently asked questions . . .
Q: I've not yet completed the Level 1 workshop, Be Fully Alive, can I attend Ecstasy of the Heart?
A: Yes, both Be Fully Alive and Ecstasy of the Heart stand on their own as comprehensive immersions into the cosmology of contemporary Tantric practice. Be Fully Alive focuses on our connection with ourselves, Ecstasy of the Heart focuses on maintaining the integrity of our heart while engaging in, and uplifting, our experience of intimate relationship.
Q: I'm single, is it ok to attend alone? And, if so, will I be partnered with other participants during the exercises?
A: Yes, I encourage singles to attend. In fact, there are even people in long-term committed relationships that find that attending as a single is helpful. The group is usually comprised of 50% singles and 50% couples, it's always a dynamic, supportive group. Many of the exercises are done alone, some may be experienced with a partner. I take time at the beginning of the weekend to make sure everyone in the group is comfortable and aquainted with one another and then partnering happens quite easily. Many participants make life-long friends over the course of the weekend.
Q: Is there nudity in the workshop?
A: There is no nudity or sexual contact during the workshop. All practices are easily learned fully clothed and everyone in the entire workshop is fully clothed. You'll be amazed how much of your sexuality actually springs from deep within your body - and how these very specific practices unleash the capacity for fulfillment and love within you.
Q: How can I prepare?
A: I recommend skimming through Margot Anand's book, The Art of Sexual Ecstasy, as a fantastic preparation for the weekend. Margot was my first and much beloved, Tantra teacher.
Q: I have plans Sunday afternoon, can I leave the workshop early on Sunday?
A: The Ecstasy of the Heart program is a carefully designed transformational energetic process, it's required to be present for all the sessions from beginning to end. This enhances the process for you and everyone in the group by providing a container that is safe and supportive.

An expedition to the hidden Tantric temples and ashrams of Southern India including Devipuram, the Sri Vidya Ashram in Andra Pradesh where you'll discover the extraordinary beauty and ancient roots of the Sri Vidya Tantra path.
The Tantric Expedition to India has three parts. First, Devipuram, where I am currently learning the practices of the Sri Vidya Tantra path. Then, a Tour of Southern India, visiting some of the most extraordinary temples dedicated to Shiva and to Parvati. Then, Pune, to the Osho Meditation Resort. You are welcome to join me one, two, or all three parts of the journey.
PART 1: Expedition to Devipuram . Dec 30th - Jan 8th
We’ll begin with eight days at Devipuram, the Sri Vidya Tantra Ashram created by my guru, Sri Amritananda Natha Saraswati. Devipuram is dedicated to Lalita Tripura Sundari, “She who is beautiful in three worlds.”
You’ll receive rare Mantra, Yantra and Tantra teachings. You’ll learn the practices of the Sri Vidya Tantra path. During your time at Devipuram you’ll be immersed in classical Hindu rituals, pujas and fire ceremonies. You’ll awaken the inner path of joy through devotion. Devipuram is home to the Sri Vidya one of the most beautiful of all Tantric lineages.
PART 2: A Tantric Tour of Southern India . Jan 16th - 20th
Chennai . January 8th - 10th
Our tour of Southern India begins with two nights in Chennai, our first taste of Tamil Nadu. Our guides will take us to the best markets and restaurants, we'll experience the exotic sights and smells of the festival like atmosphere. We'll shop for deity statues and traditional clothing. There will also be opportunity to book spa treatments at our stunning hotel for an additional cost.
Madurai . January 10th - 12th
Our next stop on the expedition is Madurai, an energetic, ancient city on the Vaigai River in Tamil Nadu. The Meenakshi Amman Temple, covered in stunningly beautiful brightly colored carvings, is a major pilgrimage site. Meenakshi is a form of the Hindu goddess Parvati; the consort of Shiva.
Thiruvannamalai . January 12th - 14th
Next, we make our way to Tiruvannamalai, one of Tamil Nadu's holiest destinations. Set below boulder-strewn Mount Arunachala, Tiruvannamalai is one of South India's five cities of Shiva. Shiva is worshipped here as his fire incarnation; Arunachaleshwar. It is the largest temple in India dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Pondicherry . January 14th - 16th
From Tiruvannamalai, we make our way back to the Bengal coast to Pondicherry, one of India's most romantic cities. Pondicherry is the home of Auroville, where we’ll visit the Matrimandir, a huge spherical meditation dome surrounded by twelve golden petals reflecting sunlight, giving the structure an etheric radiance.
Kanchipuram . January 16th
Home to many important temples and considered a holy pilgrimage site by Hindus, Kanchipuram is believed to have been part of the mythical Dravida Kingdom of the Mahabharatha. Kanchipuram silk weavers are credited with producing the finest saris in the entire world.

Dawn Cartwright is a Tantric visionary, sacred writer, world traveler, and innovator in bio-energetic Tantra fusion. She discovered the path of Tantra by accident shortly after a period of life-changing mystical experiences in lovemaking more than twenty years ago. Dawn’s study and research is focused on the ancient and modern forms of Tantra, bio-energetics, and the actualization of human potential through sexuality.
Dawn has a degree in psychology from the University of California, Davis, and has had extensive training in Tantra, Yoga, Sexuality, Bioenergetics, Meditation, and Expressionistic Movement & Art. She has studied many schools of Tantra including Sri Vidya, Neo-Tantra, Shaktism, Kashmir Shaivism, Vaishnavism, Tantric Buddhism and Tantric Kriya Yoga.
