Ally Venable :: PUPPET SHOW
Award winning blues-rock guitarist Ally Venable’s Puppet Show features Ally - guitar and vocals; Elijah Owings – drums; and Bobby Wallace – bass. Special Guests on Puppet Show, which was produced by Rock Romano, Steve Krase (who also plays harmonica on the sessions) and Ally Venable, include guitarists Gary Hoey and Lance Lopez, as well as keyboardist Eric Steckel. Puppet Show, Ally’s second album for Connor Ray Music, was recorded at Red Shack Studio in Houston. The CD features eight original tunes written and composed by Venable, along with two blues classics that compliment her rockin’ blues sound.
Puppet Show is all about songs that connect. It radiates a sense of soul through the songwriting and guitar playing, as well as the vocals that are laid out throughout the album. The disc opens up with a haunting riff for the song “Devil’s Son,” which features Gary Hoey on lead guitar along with Ally Venable on guitar and vocals. ...Find more about this artist and release

Paxico Blues Festival Celebrates 15th Anniversary Sept 15th
(PAXICO, KS) - The Paxico Blues Festival will celebrate its 15th anniversary on Saturday, September 15th by hosting thousands of blues lovers throughout a full day of blues on the Main Street stage. Performances by Tas Cru and his band of Tortured Souls, Hurricane Ruth with Scott Holt, Kool-Aide and the Exact Change Band, Torrey Casey and the Southside Hustle, and Heather Newman will keep toes tapping all day long.
“The Paxico Blues Festival brings some of the best blues on the planet to a historic town set right here in the gorgeous Flint Hills,” said Steve “Bud” Hund, co-founder and proprietor of Mill Creek Antiques. “We welcome all to our festival to enjoy dancing, top quality music, local food, and antiquing. It is important for us to keep this festival free because we believe in building a community around preserving a quintessential American art form in the blues while also promoting small town culture and giving back.”
The festival offers a triple threat of world-class blues and a commitment to “Keep the Blues Alive;” a historic town with gorgeous views of the majestic Flint Hills, mouthwatering local food, and shops full of treasures. It is truly a cannot miss opportunity. ...Find more about the Paxico Blues Festival
