The five-week course  is designed to provide mid-career and senior security practitioners from across the Asia-Pacific Region about this large, diverse and complex region, its many issues, and opportunities for cooperation. The course also seeks to enhance the capability of every participant-or Fellow-in the areas of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and decision-making undertaken in complex and culturally-diverse environments. Trust, partner-building, goals of Vietnam workshop

The Indo-Pacific is in the midst of an epochal change. The global economic shift to Asia, the surge of maritime competition and security issues, and China’s continued forward momentum in their One Belt, One Road initiative demand a sense of urgency in identifying like-minded partners and priority areas of security cooperation. To build shared understanding and trust in this changing environment, the DKI APCSS and the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam co-hosted a workshop entitled, “Vietnam in a Changing Region: Looking Ahead to 2025” Sept. 5-7, in Ninh Binh, Vietnam. The workshop identified priority areas where the U.S. and like-minded partners could assist Vietnam to realize shared visions and goals. Click here for full article.
