Wilmington’s most anticipated summer music festival returns to Market Street on July 20 with the 25th Annual People’s Festival Tribute to Bob Marley.
In partnership with Live Nation, the People's Festival is proud to present the lineup for the festival featuring an inaugural Wilmington performance by Maxi Priest.
The day-long festival runs from Noon to 10 p.m. in the heart of Wilmington along North Market Street featuring live indoor and outdoor music, a craft beer garden and street festival, international food court, arts and craft vendors, Delaware Art Museum’s Children’s Village
and will also feature a Premiere Bob Marley Exhibit featuring a rare collection of memorabilia on loan from archivist Jack Low. Sponsored by The Delaware Historical Society this rare exhibit will open on July 17th in beautiful Old Town Hall located in the heart of the planned 25th Annual Peoples Festival festivities on Market. Jae Street and Friends will provide live musical vibes indoors from 4 until.
MAXI PRIEST
AKAE BEKA
Live entertainment inside The Queen music venue located at 500 N. Market Street, will begin at 7 p.m. and features Max Alfred “Maxi” Elliott, known by his stage name MAXI PRIEST, is an English reggae vocalist of Jamaican descent. He is best known for singing reggae music with an R&B influence, known as reggae fusion. Also on this stage we welcome AKAE BEKA (formerly Midnite) for an encore performance and Baltimore Reggae band, Jah Works!
Music on the street stage will welcome Image Band, all female Reggae Band; STRYKERS POSSE, our own Queen of Jazz, Alfie Moss, Wilmington’s Spokey Speaky, and Blues sensation The Blues Reincarnation Project!
The 25th Annual Peoples Festival Tribute to Bob Marley will keep the positive vibration blasting all day with live music from two stages! The day long street festival will run between 4th and 6th Streets along Market Street and inside Willingtown Square! International Food Court, Arts and Crafts from around the World, Children’s Village, Healing Garden, Live Music, Two Stages and a mix of vendors. Street Festival in front of and inside The Queen! New this year, Inside the Old Town Hall, owned by the Historical Society, a state of the art exhibit devoted to Bob Marley and the Peoples Festival, that will be open to the public during festival hours.
The People's Festival has a mission to foster and promote cultural diversity through music, art and educational programs for the purpose of inspiring Unity, One Love, Equal Rights and Justice for all as we were inspired by our beloved friend and brother, The Honorable Robert Nesta Marley, O.M.
