First, it was pointed out to me that I inadvertently left the name of our newest board member off last week's thank you to our board of directors message. Please join me in thanking our newest, hard working musician member, Anthony Ball! But also remember, we are still looking for interested folks in NWA to join the board. at the Holiday Inn. Our meetings reflect the basics of running the society, but more importantly focus on various events
we plan, produce, and partner with
other groups to produce.
On another "yep" note, as the challenges of the COVID-19 outbreak have now become a reality in the US, more and more live events are facing cancellations. This week's calendar below, which is derived from community calendars and venues, appears similar to most previous weeks, but the reality is, changes are occurring rapidly and scheduled events can and will be cancelled. Therefore, I would encourage anyone planning to attend a live event to check with the venue for potential cancellations. Also of course each of us must determine our personal risk factors before deciding to attend public events.
If you are one who feels it is more appropriate to avoid public events for
now, I would encourage you to reach
out through social media to the bands
and musicians whose shows you may
end up missing in order to encourage them as they face this reality of
required social distancing. Let them know you care, and will see them as soon
as things settle down.
