There’s a new take on an old Chanukah song from David Garfield, Sam Glaser, Lee Oskar and others.

version of the song “Chanukah, Oh Chanukah” offers a unique sound this year — reggae and soul.

It is heard on a recording made in the California music studio of David Garfield, producer, arranger and keyboardist.

The number retains the familiar words sung in Hebrew and English by Sam Glaser, a performer who specializes in Jewish songs and has appeared many times at religious celebrations in Michigan.

Lee Oskar, who worked with the band War, plays the harmonica, and Larry Klimas, who has worked with the band Chicago and Neil Diamond, is on saxophone.

Other musicians are Israeli Oz Noy, Tim Pierce and Andy Bassford (guitars); Freddie Washington (bass); Steve Ferrone (drums);
and Kevin Ricard (percussions).

OJ ThaGreat Drops  “Thousand Psalms”
OJ ThaGreat Drops A New Single
Sharing the Power of A “Thousand Psalms” A Day Feat. Carl Bradshaw O. D.

Opening the song with the voice of Jamaica’s world-renowned actor, Carl Bradshaw O.D. reciting Psalms 2, “Thousand Psalms” immediately sets the tone to uplift and inspire listeners.  “The song was inspired by prayers and meditation. A prayer a day keeps the devil away, so can you imagine what a thousand psalms can do, cramp and paralyze him.

People will look and say ‘but there isn't a thousand psalms’, but the title is just placing emphasis on continuous prayers and meditation. I think a lot of youths don't believe in praying and it isn't really embedded in them as it was for previous generations. Therefore, I think many have lost faith in prayers and meditation, even those who it was instilled in have lost faith.

"This song is an insight and a reminder in one. SELAH,” said OJ ThaGreat.  The singer offers a seemingly unprecedented spiritual journey through “Thousand Psalms,” blessing the soul, body, and minds of listeners.

"BE A LIGHT" - A song by Jubba White, featuring Kumar and Monty (C-Sharp Monty).

“2020 has been a turbulent year so far, and we all need a little time to reset and prepare to be reignited. I'd like to start that process with music!

Be a Light is a song that aims to uplift each and everyone that has the opportunity to hear it. It’s about bringing out that light in us; whatever it is that we are good at, or that which we are passionate about. See it as a gift to the world!

With the use of our gifts to uplift not just ourselves, but our community, it will by default, serve as motivation to others. Let's all make it our mantra for the rest of this year, into 2021.”

Peace Process Album by Queen Makedah
Makedah’s latest album, Peace Process, is a continuation of her work to bring peace, elevation and healing to the world through conscious reggae and worldbeat music in these troubled times.

Makedah’s current album, Peace Process, was conceived about seven years ago, while she was teaching and living in the Bay Area of California - Richmond and Oakland. Both cities were notorious for gang violence and high homicide rates for black and brown youth. Both a mother and a teacher, Makedah was deeply impacted by seeing headline after headline of young faces being violently snuffed out in the crossfire of ruthless gang violence and petty disputes.

The inspiration for the album was born out of these experiences.

Introducing New Song from Link&Chain's — "NEW DAY REVISITED"
The album delivers classic authentic reggae with songs like "Jah Is Great" — an epic chant; "I gave you Rose/Be My Lady" — a lover's rock tune;
"Long Road"; "Again and Again/Over and Over"; and "New Day Revisited"

These songs reinforce the group's traditions and conviction to the reggae genre.

Link&Chain is a unique musical group of 4 extraordinary dedicated Rastamen that have been performing/recording for 25 years: Dwight Campbell “Ta Seti”, Paul Williams, “Mirror”, Trevor Douglas “Kasha”, and the newest member of the group, O’Neil Griffiths.

The name is as unique as the group and came about through a process that involved high meditation and elimination. “Kasha” (Trevor) was the inspired member who first suggested Link&Chain and as explained by “Ta Seti” (Dwight), “Many links make up a chain and the chain is binding. Every member is a link, every fan is another link and this chain now will become a link to
world unity through music.” Reflection on the shackles and struggles of the Blackman was a part of the thought process that makes this name such a universal and striking one.

 Link&Chain was originally a trio made up of well-intended youths who had music plastered all over them. Based in quiet Port Maria Bay, these youngsters were LINKED to the Island Recording Group Foundation by a thread that ran through their life, their music and their sound.
