News Flash...
Cathy Grier remains true to her music
Soulful and electrifying, Grier hails from New York by way of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

Guitarist, songwriter Cathy Grier, formed The Troublemakers in 2017 with a stellar lineup of top Wisconsin Blues players. Their 2020 album "I'm All Burn," hit the Blues charts worldwide, and was in the top 100 for 2021 of RMR Contemporary Blues Charts. The title track was named Coolest Blues Song of 2021, Big City Rhythm and Blues magazine.

Cathy has remained true to her music, and to critical social causes since 1978. She subtly shifts from sultry to funky, from the Delta to Memphis and Chicago. Cathy’s life story can be felt in every heartfelt note accentuated by tasty blues guitar stylings, electric and 4-string Cigar Box. Her gritty, soulful vocals underscore the poignancy of her lyrics.

In Grier’s dynamic stage presence, blues is a fundamental cornerstone of everything she does. Cathy’s career highlights range from an MTV video in the 80’s, opening up for legendary artists Laura Nyro, The Band, and Joan Armatrading. She has written hit songs in France, produced artists in multiple languages, toured extensively, supported important causes and even honed her craft in New York City as a busker.

Cathy Grier + The Troublemakers will be representing Paramount Music Association, and the State of Wisconsin at the 2022 International Blues Challenge Memphis, TN May 6-9. And will also perform during the Women In Blues Showcase May 9th at Alfred’s On Beale Street. Cathy is looking forward to returning to Beale Street (IBC Soloist in 2018), and looks forward to meeting you.

Contact Cathy Grier at 917-374-8870 and Email.

“BUTTERFIELD REVISITED - Chicago to Woodstock” May 7
A celebration of the life and musical legacy of world-renowned bandleader and harmonica master, Paul Butterfield who passed, May 4th 1987.

Lizzy Vann, owner and architect of the newly renovated Bearsville Theater and complex, and Gabriel Butterfield, Paul’s eldest son, are thrilled to present “BUTTERFIELD REVISITED - Chicago to Woodstock,” at Bearsville Theater (291 Tinker St.), Woodstock, New York, on Saturday May 7. Doors open 6pm, showtime 8pm. The show will feature an all-star cast of musicians, including Gabriel Butterfield’s Band with Jimmy Eppard, Jim Curtin and Eric Finland, plus special guests Rob Paparozzi (harp), Steve Guyger (vocals) and original Better Days member, Chris Parker (drums).

Beginning with Paul’s early works of 1963-1966 and followed by the Big Band years of 1967-1970, all the Paul Butterfield Blues Band in Chicago and Elektra Records years will be celebrated, finishing with the Bearsville Records years. The Bearsville Records alumni, Paul was the first artist signed by Albert Grossman (The Baron of Bearsville). He recorded four albums for Bearsville Records, removing “blues” from the band’s name, calling it Paul Butterfield’s Better Days.

“There will be surviving Butterfield band members and many surprise guests, all here to share the love, music and memories to celebrate the gain and loss of my father, Paul Vaughn Butterfield in our own dream. See you there!” - Gabriel Butterfield.

This event also marks the launch of a GoFundMe campaign to complete the filming of a new documentary of Paul’s life, times and legacy, to be co-produced by Gabriel and film maker Thom Pollard.

Advance tickets $30 Gen (standing) - $40 Seated (Auditorium) - $50 Golden Circle (seated first rows Balcony & Auditorium). Day of Show: add $5 per ticket. Tickets at 845-684-7133- Ext 3. or Bearsville website
Loreto Blues Fest in Baja Sur coming April 23
(LORETO, BAJA, MX) - Saturday, April 23, 6-10pm is the Loreto Blues Festival in Loreto, Baja, Mexico at La Mision Loreto. The festival will feature blues, rock, funk, Latin soul and more from the Blues Foundation's 2016 International Blues Challenge Winners, The Delgado Brothers, rocking blues band Histeria, a Baja Sur favorite, and the acoustic blues of The Street Dogs.

The Delgado Brothers Band deliver a mighty musical expression of artistic soul, rhythm and blues all spiced up with a fiery blend of hand crafted original music. Beloved for their live shows and renowned for their signature L.A. sound, the Delgado Brothers are a delicious fusion of soaring guitar virtuosity, melodious harmonies, and rock solid musicianship. Yet the main reason their music strikes such a universal chord is their message. Their lyrics reflect and reveal the ethos and pathos of our common humanity.

On Friday April 22 there's a Pro Blues Jam at Mike's Bar and Saturday following the festival will be an After-Party Jam at the Giggling Dolphin.
