Photo Moments with the 21st Annual BFG Magazine!

 Here's Plymouth, England guitarist, singer, songwriter Vince Lee and bassist Sophie Lord at the Gator By The Bay Festival. On tour from the UK, the duo performed at the festival as well as the Gator By The Bay kickoff concert.
They serve up a cool, vintage blues sound that touches on jump blues, calypso, swing and ragtime. Vince has been playing and singing the blues in all its forms since the mid 80s. In 2022 they joined forces when Sophie returned to Plymouth after playing bass in London for 10 years.

Diversity at TD Kitchener Blues Festival Aug 10-13
|
 (KITCHENER, ONTARIO, CANADA) - The TD Kitchener Blues Festival presents another weekend of great music entertainment this August 10-13, 2023. The experience this year promises to be great again with a diverse line-up of musical artists that includes Spin Doctors (performing at our fundraising concert along with Digging Roots), Dandy Warhols, Dawn Tyler Watson, Mr Sipp, Samantha Fish, The Legendary Downchild Blues Band, I Mother Earth, Men Without Hats and many more.
Performances will happen at the OLG Clock Tower Stage in Victoria Park, the YNC Stage City Hall, and the Europro Stage in downtown Kitchener.
Tickets for the Fundraising concert are available at Ticketscene.ca and Encore Records. The rest of the weekend is free thanks to our generous sponsors, granting agencies, enthusiastic volunteers and you coming out with friends and family.

Sean Carney’s Blues For A Cure - Harrison Co. Jun 23-24
|
 (CADIZ, OH) – MPLX Gathering and Processing presents the 12th Annual Sean Carney’s Blues For A Cure - Harrison County. This free public concert will be held Friday (6pm start) June 23, and Saturday (4pm start) June 24, 2023, at the new Mark Stage at Sally Buffalo Park, 43000 Industrial Park Rd., Cadiz, Ohio. Proceeds will benefit WVU Medicine Harrison Community Hospital Foundation and the Harrison County Cancer Crusaders. Blues For A Cure, has raised over $400,000 for many cancer research, education and screening organizations across Ohio since Carney started the fund in 2007. Donations are encouraged. There will be a live auction Saturday evening.
Blues super group, Southern Hospitality will be headlining Saturday consisting of Victor Wainwright, JP Soars, Damon Fowler, Chris Peet and Terrence Grayson. The Hoard & Jones band featuring regional favorite Roger Hoard, considered the best guitarist in the Ohio Valley, and multi-instrumentalist Dan Jones, will kickoff Saturday. The festivities are co-hosted by the event’s namesake, 2007 International Blues Challenge (IBC) Guitar Champion, Sean Carney.
This Blues For A Cure concert is also a CD Release of Blues Cures 14, the fourteenth CD in the series of Live Studio Jams with the artists who've been a part of our concerts in the past decade. Among the artists featured on this release are IBC winners Sean Carney, Noah Wotherspoon and Stacy Mitchhart, along with the Just Strange Brothers Horns, Tom Rastikis, Brian Aylor, Chuck Moore, Jim Godin, Tom Carroll, Lenny Fatigati, Jan Roll, Jamie Peck, Matt & Eryn O’Ree. The CDs will be available as a free gift with a donation of $10 or more.
This event is BYOB. Food, water, and soda will be available for purchase from various food vendors. Bring lawn chairs, sun tents and blankets.
Friday's lineup is all Acoustic featuring Damon Fowler & Sean Carney, JP Soars & The Red Hots Gypsy Jazz, and Victor Wainwright & Terrance Grayson. Saturday's lineup features Hoard & Jones Band, JP Soars & The Red Hots feat. Sean Carney, Southern Hospitality, and a Sean Carney Hosted Jam.

2023 Blues Blast Music Award Tickets On Sale Now
|
(PEORIA, IL) - The 16th Annual Blues Blast Music Awards ceremonies are September 23, 2023 at the 3300 Event Center in Peoria, Illinois. Doors open at 4:00pm. Show starts at 5:00pm. Visit our Blues Blast Music Awards website to get your tickets now. General admission tickets are $35 in advance. The venue capacity is 600 so get your tickets early before they sell out.
In early June 2023, a group of music critics, journalists, festival promoters, music venue managers, musicians and other Blues music industry professionals nominated the best in Blues music in twenty three categories.  Pinebluff, Arkansas. (PINEBLUFF, AR) - Port City Blues Society co-hosts the July 8th Blues By Budweiser concert series that will feature Big Al and the Heavyweights at RJ's Grill & Bar, at 128 S. Main St., Pinebluff, Arkansas.

 Just in Case: June 27 is "National Sunglass Day." ... Everyone appreciates a good set of shades... or even just a cool set of shades. Their history actually goes back a very long way! In the 12th century the Chinese wore sunglasses with lenses made from flat panes of smoky quartz. By the 1900s sunglasses become widely used.
