Read on for some exciting news
this week! Thanks to one of our most valued community partners,
The Walton Arts Center, we have not just one, but TWO ticket giveaways to share with our readers this week! If you follow our "Mark Your Calendar" section, you probably already had your eye on these two upcoming performances. The two giveaways are for the September 5th Allman/Frankenreiter "See It All American Tour." Don't miss your chance to see these artists as they continue their effort to break the world record for 50 shows in 50 state in less than 50 days! The second show
in the giveaway is "The Music of Sam Cooke, The King of Soul." This special show celebrates the life
and music of one of America's
most iconic soul artists.
Read on below for more information on how to enter!
As you review upcoming events,
we would like to draw your attention to TONIGHT'S most special
"A Crowne-ing Affair" event that includes awarding the Music Education Initiative's "Friend of the Community" award to Brian Crowne in honor of his years of dedication
to supporting and growing live music throughout NWA. Over the years, Brian Crowne has been a great supporter of Ozark Blues Society
and we are honored to be a part
of this event honoring him.
Please read on for more information
on this award ceremony and the fundraiser accompanying it that seeks to multiply Brian's impact on young, rising musicians in the area.
Returning again this week, you will find our article about our upcoming Blues Challenge. Registration opens NEXT FRIDAY, September 1st. Remember, if you are, or know,
a blues musician within 250 miles
of Bentonville, you can now find
the information you need to plan posted on our website.
Also returning is the weekly Blues History feature from Big Train and the Loco Motives. Read on below for more information and to access these great blues history presentations.
Perhaps you are not seeing your favorite blues artist or venue listed in our calendar? We compile listings from local community calendars for our partner artists and venues throughout the area. Remember, artists and fans alike may send us blues event listings that may not appear in the community calendars. Just email SANDY to share
listings that include performances occurring from next weekend through the following weekend.
It's always important to say, this is YOUR newsletter! Please send questions, information, feedback, and suggestions our way. Just click below to email Sandy.
We appreciate our readers and want
to see your ideas included!
