The Center Celebrates Milestone: 15,000 Alumni

The Center celebrated a milestone achievement after graduating its 15,000th alumni, Maj. Thi Huyen Nguyen from Vietnam, who graduated from the Comprehensive Security Cooperation course 23-3. "This marks a significant milestone in our quest to, not only educate and empower our graduates but connect them as well," said Deputy Director Richard Sears. "The strength of 15,000 security practitioners networked in a mutually supportive goal for a stable, secure, and prosperous region is something to be celebrated and nurtured.
 
CSC 23-3 took place from September 20 thru October 25 and hosted 108 Fellows from over 30 different countries... Read More
Hawaii community leaders support peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific

For 28 years, the Daniel K. Inouye Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS) has played a crucial role in promoting peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Since 2000, the Center has received generous support from Hawaii’s local community through the Foundation for the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies. A group of Hawaii’s business and community leaders created the Foundation as a nonprofit institution where the local community could support the Center’s activities to ensure its continued success. Through personal donations from its members, the Foundation has supported numerous Center programs, ensuring that the Center can continue its valuable work to address the ever-evolving security concerns in the Indo-Pacific region. Maj. Tony Smith of the U.S. Army recently served as a military fellow at DKI APCSS. His latest article on artificial intelligence was published by the Civil Affairs Association, appearing in Civil Affairs Issue Papers Vol. 9, 2022-23. Maj.
