Blues News You Can Use!
Shhhh...
We are still so very excited to be sending the Chad Marshall Band as the NWA representative to the 2024 International Blues Challenge in Memphis! But we also have a secret...we are working with a young Bluesman who we hope to send as an entry in the 2024 IBC Youth Showcase. If you attended our Blues Challenge a couple weeks ago, you had an opportunity to see him in action. Here's to hoping we get the opportunity to sponsor Chyrell Stanley. He is a young blues player you need to keep your eyes on!
More on Chyrell soon, but you can read on below for more info on
the Chad Marshall Band.

Also, take note of the new article with information on a cool blues segment scheduled to be on this weekend's episode of CBS 60 Minutes. Returning this week is another week of awesome blues history from Jimbo "Big Train" Madson. And be sure and keep an eye on our calendar. In addition to your local favorite artists, we kick off an exciting run of national blues artists on November 1st with Joe Bonamassa at the WAC, followed by RJ Mischo at the Music Depot on November 11th, Kory Montgomery
at George's on November 15th,
and Brandon Santini at the Music Depot on November 18th!
Perhaps you are not seeing your favorite blues artist or venue listed in our calendar? We compile listings from local community calendars for our partner artists and venues throughout the area. Remember, artists and fans alike may send us blues event listings that may not appear in the community calendars. Just email SANDY to share
listings that include performances occurring from next weekend through the following weekend.
It's always important to say, this is YOUR newsletter! Please send questions, information, feedback, and suggestions our way. Just click below to email Sandy.
We appreciate our readers and want
to see your ideas included!

Ozark Blues Society
2023 Blues Challenge
WINNER ANNOUNCED!
Congratulations go out to the
Chad Marshall Band, winners of our 2023 Blues Challenge!

Their bio shares:
"This true ‘power trio’ are skilled stewards for the spirit of blues legends. They refer to it as ‘conjuring’, and invite guests to
“come feel the music.” Chad is
an Arkansas Electric Delta Blues guitar artist mentored by Arkansas Delta Blues Master ‘Saint Thomas’ Jenkins. The Chad Marshall Band's music is a fusion of deep Delta Blues, modern Rock N Roll and a touch
of Southern Soul. This regional touring group of experienced musicians, with Carl Bass on drums and C Roscoe Willis on bass is guaranteed to deliver an authentic, memorable show. Look for ‘Made to Suffer’ release in November 2023."
