Blues News You Can Use!
Ready, Set, Go!
While you all head out today with a shop till you drop plan, I am taking off on the last drive day on my trip to Florida to visit my sister, so no shopping for me. Here's to hoping everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving meal and are entering the 2023 Holiday Season with a warm glow. The planning continues for OBS's next exciting event, our Bound for Beale IBC Fundraiser. Some of you may have noticed that the date was listed incorrectly last week in our upcoming dates section of our calendar. Please double check your calendar so you are ready to come out and join us on JANUARY 7, 2024! We are bringing the blues back to Fayetteville this year and will be at George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville. Tickets can be bought through George's Ticketing Link HERE Doors open at 5pm. Our winners
will be joined by two of our past
Blues Challenge winners, Oreo Blue and Divas on Fire. You will also get another chance to hear rising,
young Bluesman, Chyrell Stanley, who will be representing OBS at the 2024 IBC Youth Showcase.
It certainly will be an exciting evening with amazing music from our winners!

Featured this week is a "mark your Calendar" article sharing more info and the link for our IBC Fundraiser.  And don't miss the awesome
weekly blues history article from Jimbo "Big Train" Madson.
And be sure and keep an eye on our calendar. Perhaps you are not seeing your favorite blues artist or venue listed in our calendar? We compile listings from local community calendars for our partner artists and venues throughout the area. Remember, artists and fans alike may send us blues event listings that may not appear in the community calendars. Just email SANDY to share
listings that include performances occurring from next weekend through the following weekend.
It's always important to say, this is YOUR newsletter! Please send questions, information, feedback, and suggestions our way. Just click below to email Sandy.
We appreciate our readers and want
to see your ideas included!

We are quickly entering the holiday rush time of the year! Ozark Blues Society each year hosts a fundraiser to help cover the cost of the sponsorship we offer the winner of our annual Blues Challenge. The date we choose each year is a complex mix of the availability of our winning band to perform, venue availability, and working around the dates set for the International Blues Challenge. As always, we seek to schedule the fundraiser prior to the International Blues Challenge. Our fundraiser directly funds the sponsorship award we offer as well as offers the band a chance to do perform their IBC set for a crowd prior to heading to Memphis.
We value the support of our members and readers. Please mark your calendars to join us on Sunday, January 7, 2024. This year we will be holding our "Bound for Beale" Fundraiser in Fayetteville at George's Majestic Lounge. You can purchase tickets at GEORGE'S MAJESTIC LOUNGE WEBSITE
