This pic is from awhile ago, not from way back but you get the idea: FIFTY YEARS OF CID!!! - Well, you may have heard that we are celebrating our 50th anniversary!!! 😊😊😊 We are very excited to have achieved this milestone and look forward to many more years of Chicago Israeli Dancing.
We have two events in honor of the occasion. The first will take place on March 28, 2024 at our monthly party at Beth Emet. The Committee promises to deliver something special that night (without providing any details to me course 😅). We would love to see everyone who has ever been part of CID join us that night. Please spread the word to all our alums!
The second event will be at Machol Merkaz 2024 (September 26-29) at OSRUI where we will also celebrate 50 years of CID. ❤️❤️❤️ Watch for details at macholmerkaz.com

Of course, our best wishes for refu'a shleima go out to all our brothers and sisters in Israel in need of physical/emotional healing.
Wishing Yonit a speedy continued recovery from her recent surgery. And sending a huge thanks for all she does for us on our zooms! ❤️ Back this week, I think. 😊
Keeping our friend, Larry D, on the refu'a shleima list, and happy to report he is making some progress. Wishing you the easiest and fastest of recoveries from your recent surgery. I also want to continue to send best wishes for a speedy and full refu'a shleima to Mindy F! Mindy says she'll come visit sometime. It was great to have Rivka with us recently but we will keep her on the list.
And we still have Mike Century on the list. Best wishes Mike!

Of course, our primary objective is to keep us all safe and keep us able to continue dancing together. Toward that end:
If you have tested positive or have had Covid symptoms, please don't attend CID until you have tested negative at least 5 days after symptoms have subsided.
- If you have been exposed to someone who tested positive, please do not attend until you have tested negative at least 5 days after being exposed
- Follow the latest CDC Guidelines CDC
- Starting 8/17/23, we no longer require proof of vax/booster.
- If you are sick, stay home.
- Masks are optional.

OUR INDOOR SESSIONS ARE OPEN ONLY TO THOSE WHO ARE NOT SICK. (IF YOU ARE, PLEASE STAY HOME). MASKS ARE OPTIONAL.
COST: $17 on non-party nights. PLEASE add a few more bucks on party nights.
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARRIVE - Enter the building from the parking lot on the west side of the building. Ring the bell and wait to be buzzed in to the inner door. At that point please identify yourself as a dancer and you will be admitted to the building. Please go straight ahead and then down the stairs to the Weiner Room, our dance space (and adjacent to the washrooms we use.) PLEASE DO NOT AT ANY TIME GO TO ANY OTHER PART OF THE BUILDING.
IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 10:30 WE MAY NOT NOTICE YOU TO LET YOU IN. IF THAT HAPPENS, TRY TEXTING OR WHATSAPPING PHIL AT 312.519.8669, AND PLEASE BE PATIENT. (IF YOU WANT TO CATCH MY ATTENTION DURING THE SESSION, WHATSAPP IS BY FAR YOUR BEST BET. EVERYTHING ELSE IS PRETTY MUCH HIT OR MISS.)

Dear IFD Camp/Workshop Directors of the Americas (North, Central, and South)
Our friend Nona Malki approached me and asked if I would be willing to set up a WhatsApp group for all of us. (I said yes 😊) In particular, she wanted to make it easy for us to share dates regarding events we are planning, specifically with the intent of avoiding inadvertent date conflicts. While we are all aware that there are ways to publicize our dates once we have them (e.g. JewishAustralia, Rokdim, Facebook, etc.), some of us don’t always have access to these sites or we simply forget to check. So, at the moment, we don’t have an interactive way to reach out to each other to discuss events/dates we are contemplating.
Please join this group and let’s use it to communicate with each other. Of course, feel free to use this group to discuss things that you think will be of interest to your fellow leaders. And please let Phil know who else should be added to the group.
