All-Star Texas Reggae Line-Up Blazing a Fire Texas ganja anthem...Texas Kush BY by SGT. REMO
|
San Antonio, TX – Sgt. Remo teams up with the top reggae dancehall artists in the Lone Star State for this Texas ganja anthem. The single and music video bring together six of the most prominent lyricists in the Texas reggae dancehall scene. Remo joins Mr. Blacc Sheep, Ras I-Dre, Fyah Sthar, Kroywen, and Soulfiya on vocals delivering one bag of lyrics over the hypnotic riddim. Kutral Dub handled the production and engineering for this banger. AVAILABLE ON ALL PLATFORMS - CLICK HERE
A certified ganja tune, Texas Kush kicks off with Sgt. Remo’s catchy pre chorus “Texas kush, wi nuh smoke no bush.” Houston mic general Mr. Blacc Sheep (Trinidad) is up next delivering a ton load of lyrics and a few kilos of swagger, before Ras I-Dre (Jamaica) blazes a fyah ‘pon the riddim. The “Moving Up’ artist, Fyah Sthar (Jamaica), turns the vibes up a notch, as if you could get any higher! But wait, we’re only half way through the 3:30 minute song. Kroywen (NY, Trinidad) blesses up the herbs with his soulful vocals before Soulfiya (Guyana) goes “Maad” on the riddim. Sgt. Remo brings us back down to earth with the last chorus. And of course, this one requires a “Haul and pull up my selecta!!!” The single Texas Kush is part of the upcoming Sgt. Remo album (2024). The full-length album will feature collaborations with Chezidek, Fidel Nadal, Kutral Dub and more.
Mexican-born, Texas-based, Sgt. Remo has been a steady force in American reggae since his debut EP Life is for Living in 2012. Sgt. Remo is coming off a spectacular year which saw the release of his second full-length album Jah Neva Leave featuring reggae greats Lutan Fyah, Ranking Joe, Chezidek and more. Sgt. Remo is constantly on the road performing. Recent notable performances include Reggae on the Guadalupe (2021), Dallas Reggae Fest (2022), San Antonio Coffee Fest (2022), Word, Sound & Power Festival (2022), Austin Reggae Fest (2023), Houston Reggae Fest (2023), and an 9-date tour of Mexico (2023).

NYC~ THIRD WORLD & special guests GRAMPS MORGAN, LUCIANO & KUMAR PERFORMING AT THE ISSA TRUST FOUNDATION’S “FOR THE CHILDREN” GALA AT CIPRIANI 42nd STREET, NYC MAY 11
|
The inaugural Issa Trust Foundation “For The Children” New York Charity Gala, held at Sony Hall in November of 2022, was such a sold-out success that for the second staging on May 11th of this year, the organizers chose a bigger venue - the prestigious Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan.
"We are looking forward to our second 'For The Children' Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street on Saturday, May 11, with our Goodwill Reggae Ambassadors Third World and special guests Gramps Morgan, Luciano and Kumar,” Paul Issa, Chairman of the Issa Trust Foundation, stated. “The funds raised will go to complete the construction of the Mary Issa Pediatric and Adolescent Health Centre in St Ann, Jamaica," he said.
“It’s going to be a fantastic evening – starting with cocktails at 6:30pm, a Cipriani-standard served gourmet dinner, silent auction, dancing, and a spectacular show with these all-time reggae greats.”
Patron of the Issa Trust Foundation, Lady Allen, wife of the Governor-General of Jamaica Sir Patrick Allen, will be in attendance, as well as other very special guests from Jamaica.
The Issa Trust Foundation has begun construction of The Mary Issa Pediatric and Adolescent Health Centre at Richmond, St Ann, Jamaica, which will provide general physical and mental health support for the children and teens in Jamaica’s North Coast area. Throughout the year, with visiting specialists, the Centre will offer expertise in pediatric cardiology, nephrology, gastroenterology, and oncology. Other services will also be offered, such as vision screening along with free glasses if needed.
"Healthy children are the foundation of a thriving society. Investing in their health today ensures a brighter, more prosperous future," shared Diane Pollard, President & CEO of the Issa Trust Foundation, a US-registered 501(c)3 non-profit.
"Our facility will be the first health center to specifically cater to children and teenagers, offering pediatric health care and adolescent services to the youth of the Ocho Rios general area, with a holistic approach that considers not only the physical but the mental and social support for our young people,” Pollard added.
