Recorded amidst the vibrant cultural backdrop of Budapest, this album represents the culmination of an international friendship and creative synergy that transcends time and borders.
 
A true veteran of the international music scene, Son Henry boasts a remarkable 40-year international career, earning accolades such as two British Blues Awards for his exceptional lap steel guitar prowess. Hailing from Hungary, the T. Rogers Band is a musical powerhouse known for their virtuosity and passion.

Drawing from a wealth of personal experiences and keen observations, Grace delivers a compelling collection that seamlessly blends country Americana and hard-driving blues, with unexpected splashes of genre-bending funk and calypso.
 
The songs were written by Son Henry and recorded at the prestigious Pannonia Studios just outside Budapest. The album seamlessly melds T. Rogers’ Chicago blues style, Son Henry's traditional roots-blues and the newfound Americana/Alt-country influences that Son has embraced since relocating to Houston in 2012. It promises to delight listeners with its intimate narratives of love, loss, hardship and joy.
 
The album release will be supported with an Eastern U.S. Tour in June and tours in Europe and the UK in August and September.

Anthony Geraci :: TEARS IN MY EYES
Two-time Blues Music Award winner for “Instrumentalist —Piano/Pinetop Perkins Piano Award” Anthony Geraci returns with his sophomore release on Blue Heart Records. Tears In My Eyes is an inspired collection of 11 originals expressing his musical versatility and mastery!
 
Special guest appearances by violinist Anne Harris, and Sugar Ray Norcia, augment the excellent musicianship of Geraci's band, the three-time Blues Music Award nominated Boston Blues All-Stars. Liner notes were written by Walter Trout. 
 
There are eleven original tunes by Anthony with seven of them emerging from a single day of recording at Studio Faust Records in Prague, Czech Republic, in the midst of a five-week European Tour. The remaining four tunes that round out the album were recorded in February 2023 at Wellspring Sound Studio in Acton, MA.

Zydeco, Blues, Rockabilly at Gator By The Bay May 9-12
(SAN DIEGO, CA) - The 21st annual Gator by the Bay, the largest and most-authentic Louisiana-themed music and food festival this side of the bayou, returns to San Diego, California's Spanish Landing Park May 9-12, 2024.
 
Presented by the nonprofit, Bon Temps Social Club of San Diego, in partnership with Omega Events, the 4-day event will feature more than 100 live musical acts and special performances on seven stages, shaded wooden dance floors, artist presentations, delicious cuisine, and a joyous, welcoming ambiance for the whole family. The festival attracts attendees from around the globe.
 
“Gator By The Bay is a can’t-miss event that brings Louisiana’s vibrant culture to the West Coast by showcasing the region’s eclectic melting pot of history, food, music, dance and more,” said Peter Oliver, a Gator By The Bay Producer.

John Németh Brings The Blues To “George Bailey’s” Hometown May 25 
(INDIANA, PA) - Five-time Blues Music Award winner, Memphis-based blues artist John Németh will perform May 25 during the 2024 Delaney Chevrolet Westsylvania Jazz and Blues Festival (DCWJBF) in Indiana, Pennsylvania. 
 
Among recent accolades, Németh is a 2024 Blues Music Award (BMA) nominee for “Soul Male Artist” and “Vocalist of The Year.” He won the 2023 BMA for “Instrumentalist -Harmonica” and his retro and modern blues and soul album, May Be The Last Time, won “Traditional Blues Album of the Year”.

Németh will join jazz headliner Howie Alexander appearing on the lineup courtesy of the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival (PIJF).

With a sprawling repertoire that ranges from jazz and gospel, to funk and blues, Alexander’s live performances, as both sideman and headliner, have taken him from Pittsburgh to Monaco. He is also the 2024 B.U.I.L.D. Artist-In-Residence at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center/Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival.

DCWJBF is entering its ninth year of bringing a full day of free, live performances to IRMC Park in the heart of downtown Indiana. A charming college town located 90 minutes east of Pittsburgh, Indiana is notably the birthplace of actor Jimmy Stewart, perhaps best known for his role as George Bailey in It’s A Wonderful Life.
In addition to the Jimmy Stewart Museum, there’s unique shops and a variety of restaurants nearby and the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and its Allegheny Arboretum are also within walking distance. 

The festival is bookended by live music events at area venues.

A ticketed, Friday night concert by jazz trumpeter and vocalist Benny Benack III will kick things off in a classic setting: the Indiana Theater, which first opened in 1924.

Following the festival, there’s after-hours shows at area venues.

Multi-Award Winning Blues Heaven Festival artists to honor Little Walter
(FREDERIKSHAVN, DEN) - Blues Heaven Festival, held November 8-9 at Arena Nord in Frederikshavn, Denmark, announced the first eight award-winning international bands performing in honor of Little Walter. The distinctive feature of this multi-award-winning Scandinavian festival, is the fantastic and heartwarming atmosphere it creates. In 2023, the festival attracted audiences from 15 countries.

The Nick Moss Band feat. Dennis Gruenling carries the musical legacy of names like Little Walter and Rod Piazza and have been nominated for seven Blues Music Awards in 2024.

The Cash Box Kings are led by charismatic, larger-than-life blues vocalist Oscar "Mr. 43rd Street" Wilson and Joe Nosek on blues harp/vocals. On guitar is Billy Flynn, a highly respected guitarist in the blues world.

Mark Hummel, one of the most recognized harmonica players today, won two Blues Music Awards and was a Grammy nominee for his album, Remembering Little Walter. Mark brings guitarist Anson Funderburgh, drummer Wes Starr and bassist Bill Stuve.

Nora Jean Wallace, who Bluesnews.dk called "a new queen on the blues throne," is a fabulous, powerful singer that is 100% pure.

Robert Jon & The Wreck from Southern California serve up a double shot of southern rock with a blues twist.

Dawn Tyler Watson won the International Blues Challenge (IBC) in 2017. Based in Canada, she’s dubbed "Queen of the Blues in Montreal.” Dawn has won six Maple Blues Awards and a JUNO Award.

When Big Daddy Wilson enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany, he heard the blues for the first time. It didn't take long before he was hooked and started his international career.

Harrell "Young Rell" Davenport, a 17-year-old from Mississippi is charming audiences worldwide with his sincere and passionate performances, soulful voice, blues harp, and guitar skills.

(GREENSBORO, NC) — The Spirit of Blues legend Huddie “Lead Belly” Ledbetter visits the Triad for NC Blues Week. The Piedmont Blues Preservation Society (PBPS) presents North Carolina Blues Week from Saturday, May 11, to Sunday, May 19, including the Blues & Foods Market on Saturday, May 18 at City Center Park in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina.
 
Blues Week is an annual week-long celebration of Blues culture and the music that came from it. 

Along with a variety of things to do and music to catch, including Bob Margolin and Dylan Triplett on Sat May 18, this year, Lead Belly Estate/House of Lead Belly, LLC, is screening their new documentary Lead Belly: The Man Who Invented Rock and Roll on May 16 at the Van Dyke Performance Space located on the first floor of the Greensboro Cultural Center.

In Clarksdale, MS there's the Delta Blues Museum. the Blues Hall of Fame Museum and the Rock & Blues Museum. The Howlin' Wolf Blues Museum is in West Point, MS. In Indianola, MS you can see the B.B. King Museum & Delta Interpretive Center. The GRAMMY Museum Mississippi in Cleveland, MS. The Delta Cultural Center is in Helena, AK. There's the Bessie Smith Cultural Center in Chattanooga, TN. There's the Gateway To The Blues Museum in Tunica, MS. The National Blues Museum is in St. Louis, MO.
 
And there's more... do some research and enjoy the riches that every one of these museums, whether big or small, can offer.
