CD & DVD Releases
Dennis Jones :: ABOUT TIME
Rock-blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter Dennis Jones is pleased to announce his upcoming eighth original release, About Time on Blue Rock Records Friday, June 28, 2024. This much anticipated new album is blues you can rock to!

"An absolute beast of a musician and songwriter..." says Mike O'Cull of Rock and Blues Muse.

About Time was produced by Dennis Jones and Brian O'Neal of the world-famous BusBoys, and recorded in Los Angeles at Station House Studios by Grammy-award winner Mark Rains (Rival Sons) and at Matai Studios by Rodney (BR) Millon (Arthur Adams). The album was mixed and mastered by Grammy award-winning engineer Brian D Hardin (GnR, Jerry Lee Lewis).

Musicians featured include Raymond Johnson on drums (Michael Henderson, Jackiem Joyner), Robert McDonald on bass, and backing vocal (Johnny Guitar Watson, Norman Brown), Paulie Cerra on saxophone, Hammond B3 organ, and Wurlitzer piano (Joe Bonamassa, Keb Mo'), and Niomisha Wilson on backing vocals.

This exciting release follows Jones' 2020 album Soft Hard & Loud, which spent over two months in the top 20 on the Blues and Rock Blues charts.

Jones' songs on About Time are introspective, encouraging personal growth and connection, and yet still edgy and fun. If you like eclectic, modern rock-blues, then you need to hear About Time.

Eden Brent :: GETAWAY BLUES
What happens when a Delta-bred blues pianist finds herself in a London studio? If you’re Eden Brent, you make the record of a lifetime, Getaway Blues. Tracked remarkably over two short days, and backed by top British session pros, the nine-song album is Brent’s favorite to date, one that places her firmly among the finest pianists and songwriters in the blues world and beyond.

Highlights include the irrepressible boogie-woogie brilliance of opening title track, "Getaway Blues," the gorgeous country-soul ballad, "You on My Mind," and the double-entendre blast of "Gas Pumping Man." Great performances abound, as evocative of her Delta upbringing as Jesse Winchester once was but with the added sass and humor of Memphis Minnie and vocal persuasion of the best blues belters.

Decades into a career topped by four acclaimed albums for Yellow Dog Records, Brent – the onetime protégé and touring partner of Greenville, Mississippi, boogie-woogie blues master, Abie "Boogaloo" Ames – is now setting her own standard for others to follow.  The resulting musical journey – mixed by Grammy-feted engineer Matt Ross-Spang – is testament to all that makes the award-winning Brent shine as an artist: road-tested and roots-perfected in taste, chops, and songcraft.
