DRUM DANCE
August 23rd-25th
Center For Peace

The Drum Dance at the Center for Peace is August 23rd-25th. This is our 31st year to offer this amazing ceremony! There is still time and room if you are called to Dance.

As most of you already know, this is not a Native American ceremony. This Dance is non-traditional and does not promote any specific religion or creed.  It is rather the bringing into physicality of the vision that was given to our Elder, Beautiful Painted arrow, aka Joseph Rael.  That vision is written in part on the center web site if you would like to read it or it is in his book Being and Vibration, pp 165-166.  If you are feeling the call, please visit the website for more info and/or to register.

Have questions? Contact me, Brenda Sue Whitmire, Drum Dance chief, at  drum.dance@centerforpeace.us.

Two things I would like to mention here

One: If you are called to Dance, you are warmly welcomed to do so.  There is never a charge for ceremony.  Arrangements can be made to help you cover the donation needed to make the Dance happen.  Work/Dance programs are already in place and other arrangements can be made contact Steve Citty for questions with regard to financial support.

Two: The Center complies with all local rules and regulations regarding outside gatherings as they apply to COVID-19.  In addition, in an abundance of caution, each person participating in this ceremony will be asked to test negative for COVID within 24 hours of the beginning of the Dance.  If you need a home test, one will be provided for you at registration.

Sometimes people are called to Dance to work on issues in their own lives and/or that of the universe and sometimes they are called to celebrate the gifts they have received. If you are called, we look forward to your being a part of our ceremony.

Following are two quotes from Beautiful Painted Arrow that you may find useful:

“We, as humans, are slowed down (cooled down) energy that has crystallized us into ideas that came from the blowing blackness. We, as humans, will have tendencies to get stuck in the forms that we create because it is in our nature to do so.  It is in our nature because we are made of energy that has the potential to be a liquid, solid, or gas.  We become moon-sun dancers, long dancers or drum dancers to break the crystallization - to unstick ourselves from our self-imposed limitations.”
Being and Vibration - pg 101

“Ceremonies awaken the child's memory.  They are done once a year so that we re-instill a pattern in everybody; we awaken that ancient process by which the heart and the mind create balance in the living earth.”
Sound, pg 77
