Photo Moments with the 22nd Annual BFG Magazine!
Here's Gaye Adegbalola — singer, songwriter, guitarist, composer, activist, writer, teacher... you name it! Every since she was a teen, Gaye has been creating insightful and impacting waves.

Recognized for her creativity in the classroom, Adegbalola was honored as Virginia's Teacher of the Year in 1982, while moonlighting as a blues musician. In 1984 she co-founded the multi award-winning, spirited trio, Saffire–The Uppity Blues Women with the late Anne Rabson, and Earlene Lewis who was replaced by Andra Faye in 1992. Saffire released nine albums with Alligator Records before their split in 2009. Gaye has since released 9 albums with the last three on Vizztone Records and she's still making those creative waves on tour.

One of the esteemed hosts at the 2024 Blues Hall of Fame inductions in Memphis, TN, Gaye presented Angela Davis' book, Blues Legacies And Black Feminism which, she says, “in part, analyzes the mission and messages of Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday… my Sheroes!”

(CORBETT, OR) - The third annual Harmonica Northwest workshop is October 24-27th and you’re never going to have a musical experience in a more beautiful place. A half  hour from Portland, Oregon, the secluded Menucha Retreat and Conference center is a gorgeous former private estate situated on a bluff high above the spectacular Columbia River Gorge in Corbett, Oregon.

Eric Noden has been Joe’s musical partner for more than twenty years and is one of the finest blues guitarists active today as well as a top-tier harmonica player.

You also get the talented Ross Garren, Hank Shreve, Greg Heumann, and artistic director Kim Field, who has been a professional harmonica player, singer, and songwriter for four decades.
