Our Next BIG Thing!
Bound for Beale Fundraiser, Oct. 26th
|
Each year, with the help of our members, event attendees, and sponsors, we send the winning acts from our Blues Challenge to Memphis to compete in the International Blues Challenge on Beale Street.
This year the winning band is Blues City Limits.
And the winning solo/duo act is Batterton & Edwards.
Featuring a special appearance by The Downtown Livewires.
We are very proud to have these wonderful artists represent OBS on Beale Street! This is a career opportunity like no other for these artists. The competition event lasts 5 days, and the artists meet record label executives, booking agents, festival organizers and publicists. There is no other event in the world where you can meet these people just by walking down the street! You can be very proud of the bands and solo/duo artists who have represented Ozark Blues Society for the past 20 years. We have had two bands go to the Top Ten Finals (out of an average of 250 bands that compete from around the globe). And we have had one winner of the Solo/Duo competition! By attending this event, taking part in the silent auction, and by sponsoring, you will provide this year's winners with this opportunity!
Contact LIZ LOTTMANN for information on how to sponsor the event or donate Silent Auction items, thank you! |

More Blues Coming Up at the Meteor Guitar Gallery
|
The Blue Underground is a collective of seasoned musicians, led by the soulful vocals of NWA's Jenn Bray, James Meeks and Dru Thomas. They merges a mix of Texas Blues with the rebellious spirit of rock. The rhythm section, comprised of bassist Joshua "Ziggy" Kennedy and drummer Shawn Killion, lays down a groove-laden foundation. The band's repertoire, a mix of reimagined classics, delves into universal themes. The Blue Underground promises an electrifying live experience that transcends genre boundaries, making waves in the Midwest music scene.
