SolidWorks Advantage
When designing in 2D, a designer is unable to determine if the parts fit together until final assembly. SolidWorks lets users build in design intent, making sure parts fit right the first time. With SolidWorks SWIFT technology, users are able to focus on the design by taking care of tedious CAD tasks like fillet and draft creation. Machines have very complex, high-speed moving parts, and these parts often experience high loads. SolidWorks provides software for kinematics and dynamic analysis, weldment analysis, part analysis, and optimization to let designers verify designs in the virtual world, thereby reducing physical prototypes. When designing in 2D, prototyping and testing often comes so late in the design cycle that changes are very expensive and cause for more delays. SolidWorks verifies that parts will fit together and allows for visualization and verification of how the mechanisms will work in 3D.

These are just some of the advantages that SolidWorks has to offer, there are many more. Register Now to Test Drive SolidWorks for FREE at one of our Hands-on Seminars.

Roland Scanners & SolidWorks

The world of 3D scanning is evolving quickly. If you are a current SolidWorks user, see how Roland scanners and SolidWorks can work together for your prototyping solutions.

SolidWorks users can upgrade to SolidWorks Office Premium and get ScanTo3D functionality. This will give you the ability to import point clouds or .stl files, process the scan data and create surfaces directly inside SolidWorks. Workflow:
  • Scan object in Roland Scanner
  • EZ Studio Software automatically processes scan data into closed manifold mesh model
  • Import mesh file into SolidWorks Office Premium.
  • Use SolidWorks mesh and surface tools to further process mesh data as needed

Give us a call, 972-395-2138 or email us to see how we can assist you with your scanning needs and to determine what is the best option for you.

Dimension Announces the NEW Dimension Elite

What's New in Rapid Prototyping?

The Dimension Elite 3D Printer provides engineers and designers stronger, functional models with finer feature detail and improved surface finish. Priced at $32,900*, the Elite features an 8 x 8 x 12-inch build envelope and uses a new, stronger ABS material, ABSplus. ABSplus is on average 40 percent stronger than standard ABS material, making it ideally suited for testing the form, fit and function of inherently fragile, fine-featured models. The Dimension Elite features the Soluble Support Technology (SST)

If your company is still outsourcing your prototyping needs, now is the time to bring it in-house - get your own Elite Printer today! More affordable than you think with special promotions currently available.

Special Promotion: 0% Financing available through April 30, 2007 on all Dimension 3D Printers

Cosmos Case Study

Company:
Aromech, Inc., Holland, MI, designs and analyzes special machines for a host of different applications – machines used to make office furniture, aircraft components, test equipment, and even the hull of a boat, are just some of the design projects upon which the company has worked. Located in Holland, MI, automotive manufacturing equipment, including presses of all kinds, make up a healthy share of Aromech's business.
Challenge:
The owners of older equipment prefer to design and build their own safety devices - in part because the commercial ones are expensive. "That means making sure the devices designed in-house will work effectively,"
COSMOS Benefits:
Improved safety by giving customers a time frame on when their machine would run out.

Attend one of our Cosmos Design Analysis Seminars to see how Cosmos can help you test your designs. Register Today.
