Drive By Truckers
Dirty South
Rock - Drive-By Truckers began recording
The Dirty South last summer, shortly before the release of Decoration
Day,
at producer David Barbe's Chase Park Transduction Studio in Athens GA.
Sessions there continued in between tour dates through the end of the
year. This January, to finish the job, the band trekked to their hometown
of Muscle Shoals, Alabama to record for the first time ever at FAME
Recording Studio where many of the greatest soul and R&B records of
all-time were made. On August 24th, New West Records releases the sixth
album from Drive-By Truckers -- The Dirty South.

Bootsy Collins
Bootzilla
Funk - What becomes crystal clear in
trailing the history of Bootsy Collins is that while his steps seldom
came
from design, they carried him towards a vision that was indelibly locked
in
his mind. From his earliest experiences in bar bands, Bootsy's mission
was
to simply take his music to the people and have fun doing it.

Slightly Stoopid
Total Access
Rock - Slightly Stoopid: Miles, Kyle
(vocals, guitar, bass guitar); OG (vocals, percussion); Rymo (vibraphone,
drums). Recording information: Total Access, Redondo Beach, California
(2005). Ocean Beach, California's Slighty Stoopid is a grassroots
phenomenon, playing over 200 gigs per year to a huge network of rabid
fans, while remaining almost completely outside of the major-label
machine. Starting as an acoustic duo, frontmen Miles Doughty and Kyle
McDonald developed a unique hybrid style that combines a druggy base of
dub and roots reggae with touches of punk, metal, hip-hop, and
psychedelia.
