In order to eliminate anger from our lives as much as
possible, it is important to understand why we become angry in the
first place. Let's start with the basics: why anger exists. We
experience the emotion of anger in response to perceived threats. When
we feel angry it is usually accompanied by feelings of aggression, and
is physiologically accompanied by an increase in heart rate, blood
pressure, adrenaline, and energy. In most cases, we aren't being
threatened physically when we become angry and so we seek a non-violent
alternative outlet to express all of the aggressive thoughts and
behaviors.
If you wish to stop experiencing anger, you must
understand it. If you feel threatened, what has happened to cause this?
Are you attached to an outcome, worried about being replaced, afraid
that you won't be taken into consideration? Determining what is causing
you to feel threatened can help you to alleviate feelings of anger. It
also allows you to share your feelings and experiences with others in a
manner that is calm, rational, and assertive. The tactic of
understanding is the most efficient way to resolve the underlying
issues that cause anger and frustration.
To get instant relief
from anger, there are a number of options: yoga, humor, deep breathing,
changing your scenery, cognitive processing, emotional freedom
technique (EFT), stress relief techniques, and re-wording the issues.
If you know that you are prone to get into fights when you are tired,
avoid having heavy conversations at night. Likewise, anything you do to
eliminate anger triggers in your life will decrease the incidence of
anger, which will improve your overall health; thus, keeping your life
on a more even keel.

Sometimes,
vacationing is all about venturing to foreign lands, seeing the sites,
getting out in the world, and being active. Many vacations are also
designed with rejuvenation in mind. These usually don't include
adventures; rather, they include relaxation and the enjoyment of simple
pleasures. If you are in need of a rejuvenation vacation, consider the
following:
- Stay in a place of great natural beauty. Visit a place that beckons
you; where you can walk outside everyday and never be bored with what
you see. Inspiring natural beauty is a wonderful way to reconnect with
the natural world and return to the natural rhythms of the earth.
- If staying in a hotel, consider an all-inclusive package. All of
your needs will be taken care of so you can turn all your attention to
the most important objective of your day: relaxing.
- Get a little bit of exercise each day to keep your metabolism
going. Activities like yoga or tai chi are great options. Likewise,
scenic walks or leisure swims are great vacation options that will be
enjoyable and healthful.
- Choose rental houses or cabins that are either in walking distance
of everything you need or secluded in nature where you can have your
privacy.
- Treat yourself to some pampering. Whether it's a massage, a body
wrap, or any other treatment you might enjoy, this is a great time to
take in a little extra luxury. You'll be amazed how much longer you can
keep your post-spa "glow" when you don't have to head back out to the
rat race immediately thereafter.

Canapés
are small, decorative foods designed to be convenient for eating with
the fingers, usually in a single bite. As they are usually served with
cocktails, canapés are usually either salty or spicy in flavor. The
general construction is as follows: a base of bread, cracker, or pastry
topped with a spread and savory foods.
Base ideas:
baguette rounds, melba toast rounds, halved or hollow pastry puffs,
small squares of rye or sesame bread, or party size pieces of toast.
Spread ideas:
savory butters, mustard, pesto (basil or sundried tomato), olive paste,
cheese spread, crumbled cream cheese, nut butters, spinach and
artichoke dip, etc.
Toppings: cheese (goat
chevre, cheddar, parmesan, feta, swiss), olives (stuffed, sliced,
black, green), avocado, tomato, asparagus, salmon, radish, pickled
beet, caviar, herb sprigs, artichoke hearts, apple, crab, peppers,
onion, cucumber, etc.
Once you've accumulated a number of spreads and toppings, the real fun
is coming up with different combinations. Having an assortment will not
only present the most aesthetically pleasing array, but it will also
cover a wide range of tastes and add variety, which will help people
feel as if they've had more food.
Canapés
are perfect for serving at parties and pairing with drinks, but they
are also great fare for summer snacks or meals. Packing a variety of
flavors into a small meal doesn't get any easier than this!

Health Benefits of Water
|
Most
people know that the human body is 66% water, but what does that look
like? Our bones are only 22% water, while our blood is 85% water.
Muscles are 75% water and brain tissue is 74% water.
What that
means is this: when you are dehydrated circulation issues arise and the
brain's functioning slows. Skin dries, muscles don’t perform as well,
and the outflow of toxins in your body decelerates. Digestion takes
more time as well, since it also requires water for optimum function.
The lesson: Drink water and plenty of it. Getting enough water promotes a health body from head to toe – literally!

Hypnosis Success Story: Smoking Cessation
|
This success story comes from Janelle, who had been smoking for fifteen years and trying to quit for five:
"I
had tried everything on the market to help me quit smoking, but nothing
was working. When my sister recommended hypnotherapy I scoffed at her,
but in retrospect, she was totally right. The most important part of
the hypnosis program that I went through was that it focused our
personal language to say that we were non-smokers. By changing the
language, I was able to adapt a whole new way of thinking about myself
and my habits. A smoker tries to quit. A nonsmoker doesn't smoke, it
isn't even an option. When combined with the relaxation and re-focusing
techniques that I also learned, I was able to truly become a
non-smoker, which is something I've been wanting for a long time now
(sic)."
