Marshall's First French Broad Friday June 13th!


French Broad Fridays ! The 2nd Friday of every month the folks of Marshall roll out the red carpet  for an arts walk. Come stroll the galleries and studios along the French Broad River.  Resturaunts offer local,organic, food fares, Stay for music & dancing at various locations downtown Marshall.
 
Blue Wing, a local blues & swing band will play at Marshall High Studios from 9-12. Beer & Wine available.
 
When: 2nd Friday of every month begining Friday 13th.

13th Annual Bluff Mountain Festival

This free, family-friendly festival in Hot Springs, NC features great old-time and bluegrass music, clogging, and a silent auction and raffle of fine art, local crafts, vacation packages, and more. Bring your lawn chair, but please leave your dog at home. Located at the Hot Springs Spa grounds from 10 am until 9 pm.

 
Kay Gordon: Music in the Mountains


Opening Friday June 20th, 5:00-7:00 in the Mezzanine Gallery of the Arts Center. Please come and view Kay Gordon's watercolor and oil pastel works of the musicians of the mountains. This exhibit will run from June20th-August 1st.

Marion Hurm will teach a Life Drawing Class at the Arts Center for 8 weeks starting Thursday June 19th from 9:30-12:30.  Reserve the last spot today by calling 649-1301!

Intermediate Watercolor Class in the Fall

October 24-26 This 3 day Intermediate Watercolor Workshop with Marilynn Brandenburger (www.brandenburgerstudios.com) will be held either at the new community room at the Spring Creek Community Center or at the Davis Cove Farm agritourism barn.  Participants who need accomodations may stay in local lodging.  Cost is $225 for 3 days of instruction.  Catered lunches will be available.  A minimum of 8 participants are needed for this workshop.  Please sign up by September 1st.  Contact Maxine Dalton mdalton@main.nc.us or Lynda Wheelock at 828 622 7433.
