Black Mountain, NC - The countdown for Lake Edan Arts
Festival's monumental 25th festival begins! Nestled at the base of the
beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains at the site of the historic Black Mountain
College, LEAF explores music, dance and performance arts of Americana and
the World. Raves the Asheville Citizen times, LEAF is "one of Western
North Carolina's premier entertainment events" and is set apart from other
festivals by the resplendent beauty of its location, dedication to
community outreach, and a strong feeling of well-being bringing together
all generations. Plus LEAF has over 50 different genres of arts to
discover!
LEAF highlights its global music line-up, however,
the artistic and outdoor offerings of the festival is what truly makes it
unforgettable. Come discover over 40 Healing Arts Workshops such as Yoga
& Tai Chi, Folk Art, Juried Handcrafts, a National $1000 Poetry SLAM,
Camping, an adventurous Zipline, Canoes, Kayaks, and Swimming, Talent
Contest, Fiddle Contest, West African Mountain Drum Circles, over 30
Performers & Wacky Games in the Kids Village including Kids Bedtime
Stories, Second Line Parades, Jam Sessions, Gourmet Food and more! A few
NEW things this year: Art in Motion's Flying Trapeze! Plus: The Black
Mountain College Barns have come to life as a new venue, and LEAF has gone
Solar with the Solar Sundance Stage.
LEAF is a non-profit
organization established to build community and enrich lives with fine
arts through festivals, events, mentoring, and educational programs,
locally and globally. LEAF in Schools & Streets: Empowering Youth
through Festive Arts. LEAF International: Matching Kids Globally with
Instruments & Mentors.
LEAF in Schools & Streets (LSS):
Showcases Local Youth! Empower. Educate. Engage. Explore. It's another
side to the fun and festivities that serves our community youth. LSS, a
non-profit collaborative outreach effort, connects performing artists with
community centers, schools, and prisons to provide hands-on workshops,
residencies, and mentoring. Over 7,127 youth have experienced LSS with
opportunities to gain self-esteem, cultural appreciation, and tolerance
through their participation! More than 1,141of the LSS youth have risen to
LEAF performers to drum, dance, sing and poetically perform on stage!

What Ticket Is Right For Me
|
LEAF WEEKEND TIX (3 days/2 nights)
Arrive as of Friday 9am. Enjoy LEAF Friday-Sunday, and you may stay
overnight Friday & Saturday. All LEAFers staying past 2am need a
weekend ticket. Tent camping is complimentary with weekend tix. Camping in
or next to a vehicle? Get a $25 Vehicle Permit. (available pre-fest only).
Staying in a cabin? get a weekend tix. Arriving late Friday or leaving
early Sunday? Yes this is the ticket for you.
LEAF WEEKEND
PLUS (3.5 days/3 nights) Arrive Thurs 3pm - 10pm. Weekend PLUS is for
those who like to arrive early, setup, kick back, & enjoy the place.
Includes all of Weekend Tix (see above) plus Thursday night overnight.
Dinner in Eden Hall Thurs($) 6pm-9pm. Eden Hall Cabaret Stage open 8pm
till??
LOCAL RESIDENT COMMUNITY PASS Special appreciation
pass for our local community. You come to LEAF throughout the weekend, and
leave by 2am to snooze at home. Have ID w/ local address when you pick up
your ticket. Visiting friends will need day or weekend tickets.
DAY TICKETS Come to LEAF for the day & eve and depart by 2am.
For planning- stages begin Friday 5pm and end Sunday 7pm. Day tickets on
sale now & will be sold at gate till sold out. Encourage you to buy
early. Note: NO Thurs Day tickets available.
