THE ETHIOPIANS ON TOUR JULY & AUGUST 2009 IN EUROPE:
Kanji Art Management proudly present on Tour in July & August 2009 in Europe: The Ethiopians featuring Leonard Dillon backed by Dubtonic Kru (Jamaica), also presenting its own show featuring Kamau, Jallanzo (guitar) & Jubba (drummer, dubpoet).

Fee: from 9.000 to 12.000 euros (depending on some conditions to agree)

Essentially a mouthpiece for singer and songwriter Leonard Dillon, the Ethiopians were one of Jamaica's most influential vocal groups during their heyday. Not only did the duo (completed by Stephen Taylor) spearhead the transition between ska and rocksteady, Dillon's heavily Rastafarian lyrics also paved the way for the socially conscious roots reggae era that was to come.

CHEF MAYRA’S LEMON-BERRY CHARDONNAY CORDIAL

She added, “were it not for previous commitments,we could have extended this tour to include quite a few more dates."

Opening acts for the Connecticut leg Blaq Capon, 860 and Aladon stated, “we’re all very excited to be working alongside such a stellar line-up of top dance hall stars”. Patrons at the West Indian Social Club will also enjoy musical juggling provided by Black Hustler, Black Rhino and One Umbrella Sounds.

NATTY WAILER IN KILKENNY MAY 8TH
A former member of Bob Marley and the Wailers band Natty Wailer will be hosting his very own jamming session in Cleeres in May.

Natty recorded and toured with them as a keyboard player for over nine years. He recorded numerous albums and compilations with Bob Marley such as "Songs of freedom". Natty is always inspired to do a tribute to Marley at his live performances. Bob Marley is his spiritual and musical mentor as he is for so many others who love to keep his music and memories alive.

The album "Destiny" is a compilation of musical lyrics that depicts this journey of life and the strength we need to live rather than justsurvive.

With his own band The Reggae Vibes, he has recorded a CD album entitled "Lifted" that will, he hopes, reflect his purpose, and that is to present the Reggae music and its message to the world's audience.

LOVE YOUR ENEMIES

Now there is a final reason I think that Jesus says, “Love your enemies.” It is this: that love has within it a redemptive power. And there is a power there that eventually transforms individuals. That’s why Jesus says, “Love your enemies.” Because if you hate your enemies, you have no way to redeem and to transform your enemies. But if you love your enemies, you will discover that at the very root of love is the power of redemption. You just keep loving people and keep loving them, even though they’re mistreating you. Here’s the person who is a neighbor, and this person is doing something wrong to you and all of that. Just keep being friendly to that person. Keep loving them. Don’t do anything to embarrass them. Just keep loving them, and they can’t stand it too long. Oh, they react in many ways in the beginning. They react with bitterness because they’re mad because you love them like that. They react with guilt feelings, and sometimes they’ll hate you a little more at that transition period, but just keep loving them. And by the power of your love they will break down under the load. That’s love, you see. It is redemptive, and this is why Jesus says love. There’s something about love that builds up and is creative. There is something about hate that tears down and is destructive. So love your enemies

In the final analysis, love is not this sentimental something that we talk about. It's not merely an emotional something. Love is creative, understanding goodwill for all men. It is the refusal to defeat any individual. When you rise to the level of love, of its great beauty and power, you seek only to defeat evil systems. Individuals who happen to be caught up in that system, you love, but you seek to defeat the system.

loving your enemies - martin luther king jr. - 1957
