"Shamans Dare to Dream 2010"
We asked shamans from around the world to give our community their blessings for the new year:
"The shamanic path is not a path traditionally intended to achieve enlightenment. It has never been typically a path for self-improvement. It has been a path followed because people cared for other people and felt compassion for them and wanted to help them through healing and alleviating their suffering. In following that path, gifts were then given them that were totally unexpected. By working the way that spirits seem to want us to work, they help us in alleviating suffering and pain, and give the healers gifts to help them work even more successfully. This then changes them, and they are never the same again; they are indeed enlightened. But that was not the intention; it was just a result. And as the shaman works to heal others, the shaman himself or herself is healed because of that desire." -- Michael Harner, Foundation for Shamanic Studies, California

¡Bendiciones Cariñosas para éstas Fiestas!
La semana pasada en un comedor pequeño en los Andes Colombianos, mis ojos se fijaron en un objeto especial tallado en madera metido dentro de un jarrón de paja hecho a mano. Cuando pregunté acerca de éste, la mujer detrás del mostrador me dió muy poca información. Tuve el impulso de comprarlo.
Regresé al día siguiente, y después de revelarle a ella lo que yo hago, ella se relajó un poco conmigo y compartió su experiencia con ese objeto de sanación: una vara para sanar de un Curandero Choco. Nos hicimos familia. Yo me pregunto ¿cuántos de nosotros estamos escondiendo nuestra identidad chamánica, nuestro conocimiento y practicas por temor? Temor a lo que estoy pensando.
En esta época de fiestas digámosles a todos nuestros amigos, familia y colegas de negocios quiénes somos en realidad. De esta forma abrimos la puerta para compartir nuestros seres, y lo que sabemos, juntándonos como Tierra y Espíritu honrando una gran familia global.
Muchas gracias a todos ustedes por el gran éxito de Shaman Portal. Este mes tuvimos más the 26,000 visitas de 168 países, ¡casi el doble del año pasado!
